Hi guys,

I have two ferals, I've had since they were 6mths old. I used the TNR method to rescue and we are going on the year five.

I am having the hardest time with my cat called Puppy eating out of a bowl.  I have used coffee cup saucers to feed them their can food

breakfast for years.  I decided to buy two stainless bowls.  It makes it easier for me since I don't have a lot of clean up with the

bowls, I thought it would be ideal. BUT NO!! I don't want Zippy  My short hair to eat both he's eaten both and vomited it all.  TOO MUCH Of a good thing? on the other hand, my long hair will NOT indulge..

If I leave it sitting there. He LOOKS but won't bite!

I tried to put the short hair guy in a separate room but then the long hair guy whines cause his bro is missing/DRIVING

ME CRAZY\over here!!!

Hes the one I have most trouble with..H's SUPER PARANOID Poor guy/I just hate seeing him so upset and i know he thinks

I'm going to kill him or hurt him it's sad... I want him to be happy

~>H E L P To add to the problem my neighbor is feeding this herd of over twenty ferals AND will not do the TNR program I have

done the TNR with APL for over 6yrs!!  When I moved in here 17 years ago I had a dog who passed away,so no cat activity, they had one

but it passed also!

Now it is a feral cat jungle..He refuses to call APL or use TNR there is inbreeding going on big time Getting out of control in the midwest////

This is only goin to keep getting worse until the mother cat is caught and fixed

Would he use something like this ?

The sides of the bowl may bother his whiskers or something.

Are Zippy and Puppy indoors only now?

A lot of cats have trouble with bowls with high sides because their whiskers get pushed back when they try to eat and whiskers are very sensitive. I would go back to saucers or even just paper plates for now so Zippy gets enough to eat, and pet stores do often have stainless steel bowls with low rims specially for cats so you can look around for that.

For the feral cat colony, it would be great if you could get them TNR'd. They don't technically belong to your neighbor, so I think you'd be within your rights to do it, but I don't know if that would start or increase difficulties in your relationship with your neighbor.

Hi Molly,

Both of mine are Ferals, I rescued from this colony that exists four years ago, when APL helped me..

I have TNR'd nearly 20/rough estimate.

I have a disability am a US ARMY Vet. On the contrary I think it's my neighbors turn to help do the TNR. I gave him the instructs. for

working with APL to weed out these breeders. I explained the problem of inbreeding as well but my APL contact has heard nothing!

My neighbor is feeding them. My last count was 22 and growing in this active colony, the males live under my shed, females in his garage.

My neighbor is living at home with mom and dad. He a good guy, his mom is shall we say probably the one not wanting to do TNR.

Sad situation. the female is a beautiful long haired Tortie and most of her offspring are of ginger tabby decent.

I have lived here for 17 yrs. it seems to be getting worse. I feed them occasionally but not every day

LOOK I don't wanna find dead kittens in my yard.  One night I heard a cat crying in my driveway, she had just had a litter. I found out later she took all of her babies to my neighbors doorstep and cried until they came out. When they turned the lights on she took off...sigh...

What do you suggest?
