Hello! I'm just a tad concerned and need some reassurance. My cat is in the process of having her second litter of kittens. She gave birth to the first one around 6:30am, and I rubbed her belly and could feel another moving kitten. What my concern is, is that the placenta/afterbirth is still inside of her and the umbilical cord is still attached to kitten and placenta. It is now 8:00am. Will she push the placenta out once the second kitten comes along?? Last time when she was in labor with her first litter she had 2 kittens about 2-4 hours apart, around 4pm, and her 3rd kitten the next day about 8am, so I know it could be a while before she could have another one. She is nursing and licking herself frequently and is purring. I would greatly appreciate if someone messages me back, thank you!

Yes, chances are excellent the placenta still inside will come out together with the next kitten.

But it is touchy of course, so you much be observant and vigilant.    Do you have access to a vet whom is experienced with cat obstetrics?  So you can phone if need be, and or rush her in??

Are you SURE the placenta and cord are still inside attached?  Because momma usually eats up the placenta and it  may go quickly, may be literally in seconds.  Go go out a short while, or even need to cough a little, and its done, and you havent seen anything.

Please come back with reports!

How are things now? You can always tie off the cord and cut it yourself while you wait for the placenta to be delivered.

Do you plan to spay your cat after this litter weans?

Yes I'm positive the placenta was still inside her and the umbilical cord was attached to both inside and the kitten, but now she has 2 kittens and both placentas came out so everything is going great so far, and I do plan to get her fixed, just have to save some money. I love kittens but last time could have been fatal and thats why I'm so concerned this time, she has a premi kitten and the other 2 was still born and was stuck for so long, we have the premix and he is healthy and well!(: but everything is fine at the moment and I do plan on getting her fixed.

Yes, please get her fixed. Two litters of kittens is more than enough for any female cat! They deserve better.

Be sure that you keep her 100% inside and away from males until she is fixed. She can get pregnant again at any time, even without going into heat.

Where are you located? We can help you to find a low cost clinic.

Even before she was in heat my whole family tried to keep her inside but everyone who has a female cat in heat knows that they will try their hardest to get outside and we failed to keep her inside, I'm located in Joaquin TX, and about once or twice a month and mobile vet stops by about 20 miles from us and I researched and it's about 70-90$ to get her fixed, that includes antibiotics and pain pills, that's the lowest we can find, so Ima go that route. I will have enough money in a month to take her to the vet, and I will once I wean the kittens. Also kittens are healthy and eating, momma queen is being such a great momma and won't leave their side, I'll update If necessary if something goes wrong.

We always use a mobile team. Last time we used it it cost $85 so the cost of yours is as low as you will find.
