Does anybody know of cat friendly boarding within an hour or so of Joplin Mo?

Yes he is kind of spoiled and is a "roamer" if left outside. It would be for 8-10 days at a stretch.

Sister keeps house for us while we are gone but we have 3 rescues in the garage, 3 in the house with one inside/outside already. Just trying to lessen her load.

Henry is a "Valium cat" meaning no aggression and really mellow.

Any suggestions for places would be appreciated.

I know nothing about it, nor indeed about your area of the US at all.  I just saw your request for assistance, noticed no one else had contributed, and figured I might as well try to help as I'm a reasonable researcher, and I know that internet searches can be tricky.  It took several attempts to find even this one cattery, as there don't appear to be many listed in the area.  Although that may be because my search parameters included, "cattery" and that may be an English colloquialism.  There's plenty of at-home pet sitters but you don't require those.  I had to check the distance, because as far as I knew, it might have been on Mars, which is a wee bit out of your 1 hour radius.  If it lives up to its claims, it looks like an alright spot for Henry's holiday.  I can't actually recommend it personally, however.  But my fingers are crossed for Henry and you.

I hope that you have an enjoyable and/or successful time away from home.

I live in England by the way; well, the Isle of Wight to be precise.

Brian thanks for the search. Some of the places back in these ozark hills are like being on another planet. Matter of fact we lived in northern Arkansas for a while and there was a convention at a town called eureka springs especially for people who had been abducted by aliens! We never attended of course...never felt I was eligible !

However the Lambert restaurant in Springfield Missouri you might enjoy. All meals are all you can eat like BBQ ribs, fried chicken, etc. What gives the place it's character is they have home made yeast hot rolls and they go through the restaurant throwing them to customers as the people call out for them! Good food and a lot of fun.

Thanks again
