Hello I am new to this site. I was wondering. My shadow kitty is 9 years old. He has a pinched nerve on his low back and he cannot walk. My dr. gave him predisone and tramadol. I have tried everything and I cannot get any down him. I was wondering if he can possible get a cortisone shot and if it might help him out. Also any ideas how to get him to take at least his tramadol? I am so worry about him. My husband is home sick right now so I have been able to stay in my room with my kitty. and lay down with him on my bed. he has a cage to go in but I feel bad keeping him in there all day they are sying he has to stay laying down for-  weeks!!!!

Does he have pills or liquid? If pills, get a pill gun (to protect your fingers) and put the pill way back in his mouth so he has to swallow. Same with liquids---put them as far back as possible. He can get a Depo-Medrol shot for the steroid, but I don't think there are any long-lasting tramadol injections.
