Hello everyone.

I have a 3 month old kitten who I had just taken to the vet yesterday for an emergency consultation. This was because, 3 days ago, he kept gagging and seemed like he was trying to vomit. That day, I called the vet and they told me to observe him for a while if he does it again (at first I had mistaken it for hiccups since he only started doing this after he ate).

Yesterday, it happened again and I rushed him to the vet. The good thing is that he's been normal, he's eating, his weight is normal and he's as playful as ever! But, he was diagnosed with a very mild bronchitis. (He's on medication for 10 days, I'm supposed to
Take him to the vet tomorrow again to see if he's responding to it)

Has anyone experienced this before with her cats/kittens? I'm really really worried but the vet told me that he would be okay... another strange thing to note is that my kitten didn't even meow or hiss when getting some vaccines yesterday.. [emoji]129300[/emoji]

I also wanted to add that I'm thinking of getting the pet remedy diffuser to reduce stress levels... even though he's normal. I just feel like he's stressed because of the medications, after I gave him his syrup this morning he refused to come to me for cuddles [emoji]128568[/emoji]

How's he doing today?  I'm not sure what they gave you, but was it antibiotic?  If so, those usually take awhile to kick in?  And, honestly, I've never heard of cough medicine for cats, so guessing it must be antibiotic

He probably is hiding from you because you made him take something that was strange to him and he doesn't understand.  I'm guessing he got over that pretty quickly, no?

My only advice on this is that if he's getting worse, take him back to the Vet.  They showed you how to administer the syrup, right, in his cheek rather than directly down his throat?

He's much better! He hasn't made any of the noises again and his poop/behavior is normal! I've noticed some dried white stuff on his nose though... I'm going to clean it up and see if it forms again tomorrow. I can't help but be worried [emoji]9786[/emoji]️
And yes, it was an antibiotic.

Of course you're worried...you're his caretaker
.  BUT, it sounds like he's on the mend now
  Good job!

Sick kitties are so stressful for us humans!  Some of those chest infections can be persistent and take awhile to conquer, but sounds like your guy is on the mend.  When does he go back to the vet?

He will go back when he's finished with his medicine, in about a week. However I noticed some nasal discharge (dried, nothing excessive) other than that he's eating and acting normally. Should I phone the vet or do you think it's okay? (I know it's a symptom)
