I Don't Know What's Wrong

I have two cats and both are female one is 8 months and the other is 5 months but, I noticed that the 8 month old cat has pudding-like poop.   She's acting completely normal she plays, runs around and doesn't yowl with pain or anything.   The problem is that her poop is like a cow pile with a tiny bit of blood (I'm talking maybe a drop).   I was planning to take both of my cats to the vet since I know it's not their food since they've been eating the same stuff for a month so what's wrong?   Please help.

I don't know but a trip to vet ASAP is definitely in order, especially since you've not had a food change. Is this is recent or has the pudding poo been happening since you got them? What are you feeding? Paws crossed this is an easy fix. Please update after your vet appt.

I feed both of them Science Diet Kitten food.   The pudding poop hasn't been consistent though I only noticed it once before two days ago and thought it was an isolated event.   And then it happened again just an hour ago.

Hmm, I"m not a fan of Science Diet anything. It may be the food, there are much better choices out there. Hopefully the more experienced folks that know about good kitten food will chime in over the weekend.

Well, thanks for the help. I'll be taking them to the vet soon and looking for other food options. Thanks.

Kitten food suggestions needed from veterans, poo issue.

The board is a bit quieter on weekends so am bumping up your post so hopefully someone knowledgeable will see this. Definitely a vet visit is a good thing. Keeping our paws crossed

It's basically one of 2 things, parasites or diet.

The blood is from an irritated bowel and/or lower intestinal tract.

Usually in kittens it's parasites which a fecal float can determine.

If nothing shows, a better test can be done by sending the sample out to a lab, as some parasites hide themselves well.

Sorry for not updating, I've been busy with work but, my little kitty is ok. I took them both to the vet, got blood work and the whole one two and the vet said that it was most likely a passing bacterial infection. They gave me antibiotics for her and now she's all better. Thanks for the help everyone.
