Can you take them to the vet? It's very hard for us to help you with just the symptoms. They new cat, for sure, should go to the vet to see if she needs spaying.

The first thing that comes to mind with drooling and bad breath is a URI, but this would also come with sneezing and a runny nose. Really, there are so many things it could be. You need to get them both checked out by a vet.

Ask your vet to do a blood test to check for FIV and FeLV, both contagious and potentially fatal cat diseases. You vet should also scan the new cat to see if she is chipped. There's always the possibility that she is lost rather than dumped.

It's really nice of you to take this cat in and try to help her. I've taken in a lot of strays myself, but you do need to be a bit careful about letting them come into contact with your resident cats. Better to be safe than sorry.

Please keep us updated. We'd love to see some pictures too.
