I think my cats water broke

And I am never allowed to touch her belly so I can't feel to see if the kitten(s) are moving. I don't want to stress her with checking her temp either. How long could it take for labor to begin after her water is broken?
Ps. She will be spayed after this litter. Was unfortunate she escaped out before I could after the last litter.

IF its water for real, and not some discharge (discharge are common) - delivery usually comes in hours after the water broke.  But not always!  Such a late delivery, many hours after the water broke, is more difficult, as the passage will be more dry.  But usually it goes OK anyway.
Still, be ready, you may be forced to rush her in to a vet, if you notice she has an active pushing labor more than 30-40 minutes, and no results.

The problem here, compared with humans, with humans if you have access to a decent doc, its "just" to take the baby out in all unclear cases.  But kittens dont manage premature deliveries. So a preemptive cesarean will save her surely, but may be verry dangerous for the kittens, if its more earlier than just a few hours....

Colourless watery discharges are common.  And discharges with a little blood in, ie brown-colored discharges, are also quite common.


What country are you in?  Knowing that its easier to give advices.   Or not givining meaningsless advices, for example: !you can find this and that  in any Walmart", to someone living say in Sweden.

So its just normal discharge coming from pregnant cats? It doesn't indicate something?
