HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!

My daughter is marching with her high school marching band for her first St.Patricks day parade today in Savannah. They have a huge parade here in Savannah! She should have a really good time.

Movin' on up!
Faith and begorra, I'm sitting here, wearing my one green shirt, which will go back into a drawer, at the end of the day.

I got Dori a green collar, but when I looked through my closet to find something green this morning, I realized I had none. No green anywhere to be found

I am also limited in my green apparel. Today in my little college town, the bars opened at 6 am...nice hu? Well, the weather is also crappy.

The good news is: My boyfriend and I have been together exactly 2 years today....last year I got an Irish claddagh ring that is gold w/ a real diamond. Who knows what I'll get this year! We also plan to get married on St. Patricks day, in 2007!

Oddly...I dont think I have much green....doesnt matter though. I'm home today with a stomache virus. Noone can pinch me if I'm not wearing green! lol!

Cool! Congradulations on your relationship! Hey! I've got a Claddagh too! mine's silver with mother of pearl! It's my engagement ring since I didnt really want him spending alot of money on one. I'd much rather have a house! Did you know that in history the Claddagh was a wedding ring? Look it up on yahoo it's a neat story!

Yes I do know the history of the Claddagh ring....and it's a pretty neat one! Your ring sounds very nice as well. You are right they were once used as wedding rings.....just make sure you're wering it the proper way...hehe...I am. But then again, not too many people do know the history and they wear it on any finer they want or however they want. You would think people would want to know it's history, but most of the people I know wear them because they look "cool".

Oh well.

lol! I am too! I dont think it's right that they do, but It's because they dont know what it means I guess. I remember reading in a magazine a looooooong time ago that 'Buffy' had one and I'm sure that started the 'fad'. My Fiancee is Irish so that explains why my ring is a Claddagh, not just because I didnt want a traditional one.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was a whole 'Buffy' fad that made the rings popular. Well, mine isn't an engagement ring yet,(which I probably won't get until after May of 2005 when we're forced to find real jobs)however, both of us have a tint of Irish blood in us. We both picked out the ring because of the holiday our anniversary happens to land on and because we liked it's history (we're both geeks in the history department) and what it stands for.

It really irritates me that some people dont realize what the ring stands for and just wear it because buffy did and they think it's cool. How do they know it's not got some evil meaning?
Good luck with the relationship and I hope it does get to become an engagement ring
I love history too! Especially history that has to do with my family or culture.
