It makes my heart smile! Thank you so much. I did a bit of research and some kittens who were underweight May teeth later. It does make sense, he was very small and frail when we got him! He is a normal boy now.

I'll keep watch on his little teeth, in the mean time I did get him a water additive for cats to help with his teeth! It has helped!

You guys are life savers here! I'm not the only cat lady !!
We're all crazy cat ladies (AND gentlemen) on this bus, Darlin.  You are SO in the right place!

I have one more little dilemma LOL... so I left Calvin for the first time over the weekend, with someone to check in on him even though he was too afraid to come out!

Anyway, so I came home and he has been acting just a tad off. He is running around everywhere, sometimes hiccuping??? And purring extra loud when he is around me! And it seems like he has a bit of a Tumblr tummy in the mornings. He has been eating his food a little slower but I feel like that could be because he is teething (and has new teeth coming in to prove it)

Again, watch him for a day or two if those are the only symptoms.  You being gone could well have thrown him off just a bit.   And cutting new teeth will affect his eating a bit for a little while.  So long as he's getting it all in,  he'll be fine.   If things start going sideways, you know where we are!

@Mamanyt1953  mentioned his Jacobson's organ and I just thought I'd chime in with what's known as "smell tasting", which is done by opening the mouth and sucking up smells to taste by the Jacobson's organ.  They can have their mouths open for a few minutes.  I'm not sure if other animals do this or whether it's peculiar to cats.  They certainly look peculiar when they do it, hehe!

I managed to find two of my kittens teeth, which I've saved for the fairies

I used to get that look when I opened my sons' gym bags, but NOT for the same reason!

Thanks guys! He had another WEIRD purr. It was SO loud after he was playing that he had to calm himself down afterwards and swallow while he was purring. It was very loud! :(

He seems to just be an all-or-nothing kinda pussycat.  Some of them are!  Excitable little things.  Over-amp in a heartbeat.  Kinda like some people.  Overall, he does seem to be fairly healthy!   Glad you don't have to listen to my Hekitty snoring!  It sounds like small dogs barking way off in the distance, sortof a boohoohoohoohoohoohoohoo sound, repeated.  Startled the heck out of me the first time she did it.  I was opening the outside doors and listening at the walls adjoining the next-door apartments trying to figure out WHERE it was coming from.  LOL...it was her.  Snoring like a bull moose.

hahahaha! No snores coming out of Calvin yet :) But I have noticed he is almost burping or hiccuping.. Sometimes very loud! I have to think it could be something with his food. :/ He's got a rumbly tummy and a bit of terrible farts and smelly poops too!

I am looking into possibly getting him a food for sensitive foods. Not sure yet!

sounds as if his food is not agreeing with him.. have you tried any foods without fillers: grain, corn, wheat... like low carb??

Artiemom, he is on grain-free food and grain-free wet food :(

the only thing i have heard is that food that is TOO high in protein may do this to kittens. i have thought about switching him over to a diet for sensitive bellies.

Guys I feel like Sherlock right now figuring it all out... so this morning I woke up to a very loud gag from my poor little boy! I was so scared until I remembered the noise from my old cat.... Hairball?!

What I believe is happening is he may have a hairball because he overly grooms himself. And I believe that he is grooming himself because his skin is irritated for being sensitive to the food - which is giving him tummy rumbles and farts.

I am going to give him a bit of Vaseline and hope it helps! I am away this weekend again, but a friend is going in to check on him (hopefully he will come out!)

And when I get home he will be put on a sensitive food diet. If none of that works we will have to see a vet[emoji]128554[/emoji]

Poor little guy, and poor you!  But I'm sure you will get this figured out.  Sometimes it takes a bit...OH OK A LOT...of work to get just the right combination for a kitty with an iffy tummy.

Oh god guys I'm scared AGAIN! Lol. I have string lights in my apartment and noticed a part of them are broken/wire broken off... and I'm afraid that Calvin got into them and ATE IT because he played with them!

However, asides from his burps and whatnot. He shows nothing weird. He is eating and drinking, using the litter. :/ it has also been 4 days or more since he started this.

Both Brian and Dudley are obsessed with chewing wires, the amount of laptop & phones chargers, groovy lamps, fairy lights, headphones etc I've been through is unreal.  I have to hide all wires, which is nigh on impossible.  I have spares of everything at all times.  I wrap duct or electrical tape around my chargers to reinforce them, as Dudley doesn't think tape as tasty as rubber.  I've swapped my phone charger for a fibre, nylon wire, which can withstand the occasional nibble, but even then it's kept hidden under blankets or clothes, stuffed under the bed, or kept high on a kitchen cupboard.  It makes finding a suitable plug socket most challenging, hehe!  I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to rub orange juice on my wires.  I think lemon would be better but I'll see how it goes...  Citrus is a natural cat repellent.  You must make sure to hide all wires and maybe even give up your string lights if you have a wire-chomping cat

Brian, do you think he will be OK?

As soon as I saw the wired I took them down. He was very upset that I ruined his toy!!!

This is a great thread @weezercat  and @Mamanyt1953.

I just had a thought about his being afraid of the tv and smell-tasting it.  You say your previous cat only died just recently, well, his scent markings may still be noticeable to Calvin's super sensitive nose.  Cats can become jealous about the tv, computers, and whatever else is drawing our attention away from them so they rub around them to claim them as their own.  Was your old cat neutered?  If he wasn't he might have sprayed on the tv for the same reason.  Even if he was neutered, he may have still sprayed because some cats can continue to spray sometimes.  Try cleaning your tv to see if wee Calvin becomes a bit braver.   In fact, your whole house will smell of your old cat to Calvin's nose, and it will take him a while to get used to it and over-scent it with his own unique smell.

Yeah, he should be fine.  Just keep an eye on him.  If he vomits, has diarrhoea, stops eating and becomes listless take him to the vet straight away.  But a small bit of wire should hopefully pass through his system and pop out tomorrow or the next day.  Dudley chewed my last phone charger completely through in three places, so I ended up with four separate useless bits of wire.  They're wee tinkers!

Brian ate EVERYTHING, he was the most unusual cat I've ever known.  Along with ALL foodstuffs, he would eat elastic bands, paperclips, bits of plastic, bottle tops, you name it, if you left it on the floor it was fair game.  I very quickly learned to keep my floors and surfaces spotlessly clean.  I was ultra vigilant and repeatedly told others to be likewise.  But the other people, most notably my mum, were rubbish, quite frankly; and I would have to wrestle bits of elastic band, needles, etc off him, and follow my mum around, watching her every move.  One time, he came running through to get me as he'd swallowed about a metre of cotton thread attached to a reel and it had wound around his tongue, and was choking him.  He was swallowing his tongue and in extreme distress.  But because he was brainy Brian, he knew to submit to my help and he kept as still as possible whilst I held his tongue and unravelled it.  My heart has sank into my stomach just thinking about it.  One of his nine lives was lost that day.  He knew that eating stuff would get him into trouble but he was compelled to do it.  It's known as pica syndrome - look it up on the net.
