Hey everyone!

So first off, I don't want lectures on how I should have her spayed. I had an appointment around 6 months and then we had some financial issues and medical things come up so needless to say it got put off. Well now when I went for a check up 3 weeks ago today the vet told me that she is about 30 days pregnant. she will be getting spayed as soon as the kitties are weaned.
The dad is a cat I was watching at the time and I tried to keep them apart but I failed clearly. So he told me I should start seeing some weight gain in the next couple weeks and it's been almost 3 and I only see a tiny change in her. She is a very tiny cat to begin with but she has all the pregnancy symptoms. She is constantly cleaning herself, super friendly demanding attention, eating a lot, very picky about fresh water, her belly is like a hard ball (I think from feeling her gently, I didn't palpatate hard in fear of hurting her) and I feel like I may have felt a couple small movements when she lays with her belly on my legs. Her nipples pinked up in the beginning but they didn't get bigger. Could she be just having a couple and we wouldn't notice a big change in size? Or should I be concerned that she's not huge yet? I feel like it should be a max of 2 more weeks if the vet was correct with his dates. Also she has not gone into anymore heat cycles in over a month so that's a good sign correct?

Welcome! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

So she is about 51 days pregnant, and cat pregnancy runs about 65-68 days on average. She likely has a good couple of weeks left. Since she's not very big, she may only be having one or two kittens. Do you have a nest set up for her yet?

Thank you! And yes I have a couple spots set up. I'm hoping she will go to the one near her box and the food and water. And it's near my dryer so it's nice and warm. So it is normal for her to not be very big right now? And when should I really be expecting it? I'm so nervous, for me and her. I've tried to read all about it so I know what I need to do and whats going to happen.

She was eating just a small amount of wet food amounted very little dry food, but always drinking. Yesterday I bought Kitten chow and she ate an entire bowl overnight

She definitely needs to eat more. Please leave dry food down for her all the time and feed meals of wet. Kitten food is great. If she goes off one food, you will need to try others.

I've been really trying. I read about the kitten food which is why I got it, but she won't even eat her normal snacks like tuna Juice or chicken. I figured maybe her belly was upset?

Yes, perhaps her tummy has been upset or her tastes have changed during the pregnancy. This happens to human moms too!

The kitten chow is excellent. Also try wet food such as Fancy Feast classic chicken pate. Stay away from the fish varieties right now. You can offer her scrambled egg, full fat plain yogurt, and cheese.

Like I said above in my post #4, she is 51 days and has about 2 weeks to go.

Cool I didn't know that about the people food. The only benefit of this whole situation is she is so cuddly and nice now lol. I hope all goes well and I'm home when it happens

Also the vet just felt her stomach and said she was about 30 days, how accurate do you think this can be without an xray or ultrasound?

Fairly certain I just felt like 4 kicks over a few minutes period! She was laying with her belly on my legs. Is this possible?! :) I'm so excited but nervous

Yes, it's normal to see and/or feel kitten movement the last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy!

So my cat that should be about 53 days pregnant now, has started acting like she is in heat, kind of. She walked around like 3 times last night and did this loud awful meow for a few minutes each time and when I pat her she puts her butt up. Is this normal? I've read it could be her hormones making her feel good, but I've also read about reabsorption but it doesn't seem like her belly got softer and all her other behavior is the same. Should I take her for an ultrasound? Could the vet have been off on his days and this is pre labor?

It's probably just her hormones. If you want to know for sure if she is pregnant and with how many, an ultrasound will reveal the answers. If she's not pregnant you can go ahead with a spay. I'm in favor of knowing!

So I took her to the vet this am for an xray and it showed no kitties :( I'm kind of sad but in a way it's good because she was so young! She will be getting spayed ASAP. Thanks for all the adevice:)
