I have a four month old classic tabby who is developing tiny black flecks on and around the bridge of her nose. Can someone tell me if black flecks on the bridge of the nose different than those on the tip of the nose? I've read that flecks on the tip of are harmless and like freckles. The second photo shows the flecks, which developed in less than a week.

They could still be freckles, what my vet told me was to watch them to see if they become thickened or raised. If they remain flat, that is good. Cats can develop these anywhere the hair is thin, but especially at the tip of the nose and the ears. If they start getting rapidly bigger or many more develop I would have them checked out. You are most likely going to get her spayed in the next few months, you could have them checked then, remember, cats can get pregnant as young as 5 months, so be careful!

Thank you! I forgot she has an appointment coming up & I'll ask then. She's already been spayed; the shelter insisted on it before I could adopt. She was only three weeks when spayed, so that's taken care of (I know that is early; I asked to have my vet spay her at 6 months but they insisted that I let their doctor do it early).
