Goodbye Maui

I found Maui on Saturday abandoned and took him under my arms. Spent 2 nights with him until he passed away at the vet Monday afternoon. Was really hurt to hear about his passing and wouldn't want more kittens to go through this. Rest in peace Maui.

I am truly sorry for your loss.
I will never understand how people can just abandon a poor, innocent little cat. My heart cries for those poor babies. At least Maui got to know love with you. You showed that kitty that there are good people in the world. You rescued him and tried your very best to help him. He did not go alone, cold and on the street. You are a good person.
I am glad you posted about him here.
He deserves to be honored and remembered, and now he will be.

Bless you for giving that sweet angel a few moments of love and caring, I'm sure it meant the world to him. You tried, and that is what love is about, I'm so sorry it couldn't have turned out different. Maui captured a little piece of your heart to take with him and comfort him, he left the same for you. To show concern and care for a kitten that needed you shows what kind of person you are and how big your heart is, thank you from the bottom of my heart. My heart goes out to that sweet little baby, he deserved so much more from this life. I'll pray that his tiny soul is at peace now, and he can continue his kitten play at the Bridge, where he will be greeted by the legions that came before him and who will take him into their loving care. May he find a spot of warm sun to lie in and be secure in knowing there is someone on this earth that will not let his memory be forgotten. I cry for the fear and pain all of these abandoned babies go through.  RIP sweet Maui, you will always be securely held in a loving heart,  you will never be forgotten! Sleep tight little Prince!

You are an amazing human being for giving him your love in his final days.. He will never be forgotten, always loved and always remembered. I'm sure he was delightful. Rest in peace to a beautiful, kind soul. May you find peace, and know that Maui also, is at peace. You are a beautiful soul.

Thank you all for the kind words. Cats are very much neglected here and in much of latin america. Since my encounter with Maui I've been hoping to do something about this. So he definitely won't be forgotten.
