I've been feeding my cat Meow Mix original lately and she doesn't seem to like it at all. She is hungry but when I pour her the food she smells it and walks away. She will eventually take some bites of it because she knows that she has no choice lol. And maybe once every two weeks I buy her a can of wet food and she eats it within 5 minutes. I use to feed her only wet food but it gave her a sensitive stomach so thats why I don't feed her wet food. The first dry food I switched her to  was Natures Instinct chicken flavor dry food. She was okay with it. Then we gave her Meow Mix kitten food, she wasn't the biggest fan of it but would eat it. But she doesn't like this Meow mix original at all.

What are the best dry foods I can buy for her that she will like and that isn't expensive?

Meow Mix.... yeah I don't blame her. Especially if she was used to wet food before, that is a huge flip on her taste buds. Meow Mix is typically considered a junk food of the cat food world in terms of quality. High in corn, cornmeal and by products galore. My girl was fed it in the colony she was part of before I got her; the first poop she had at my place was like orange chalk and I swore to never feed my cats that if it did that to their poop.

If you are looking at price I believe Purina One is a better choice in the same range of price as Meow Mix. In reality though looking for a good quality grain free high protein is worth the higher cost. Not only is it a better choice for your cat but she will likely eat less and be fuller longer than one of the cheaper brands. You can buy online through Chewy.com or pay attention to the local pet store ads and stock up when it is on sale. I use Natures Variety and the cost is about $40 for 3 cats, 1 month with online auto shipping. You can search the forums and find a wealth of opinions on best food choices, benefits of different diets and inexpensive quality food options.

I am not sure why wet food was giving her a sensitive stomach though. Did you check the labels and see if it was a particular protein that was causing problems on a consistent basis? I know one of mine throws up every time if there is shrimp in the food. Usually some wet food for the moisture content to prevent kidney problems is ideal for cats.

Meow Mix is one of the lowest quality brand name cat foods :(. Along with Alley Cat and Kit 'n' Kaboodle. The lowest quality I would ever want to say is acceptable would be Purina Cat Chow, but that's not the best either.

Look for something with meat as the first ingredient, preferably the first 2 or 3 ingredients. Avoiding corn, wheat, and soy is helpful for many cats, although if it's farther down the ingredient list it may not be a problem.

Generally speaking, you'll find better prices at feed stores and even some smaller pet boutiques. The big-box pet stores tend to be too expensive.

That old saying "you get what you pay for" is pretty relevant with pet food. The best commercial foods are more expensive, and the worst ones are cheap. With that said there are some decent lower quality wet foods, like Fancy Feast Classic. Try and feed her some wet food and move away from the kibble, especially the cheap kibble that's basically all corn and no meat based proteins. Cats are obligate carnivores, they need meat.

I've been haveing this problem with my cat. She used to eat one specific pet food brand for years up until recently. And like a few months ago she started to refuse to it. I'm not sure whether this is the producer who changed some contentes maybe or she just doesn't like it anymore. Shall I take her to the vet or just change the  brand?

Think of it this way, would you want to eat the exact same food for every meal all day every day for years and years? Probably not, so your cat doesn't either. I strongly believe in both brand and protein rotation. You need to feed a variety of flavors, brands, and protein sources to not only keep your cat interested in her food, but because it's not good to rely on just one manufacture. With that said, yes, anytime your cat has a behavior change you should also take them to the vet to rule out a medical issue.

One other thing to be aware of, especially when using dry food, is that each bag really constitutes a NEW food, and it's always possible that in the new batch, something is wrong.  This is where RECALLS come from, whe something goes wrong and animals are stuck with only one food and have no choice so they eat it and get sick.  Their noses are better than ours, and they know things we do not.  If your animal starts refusing food and it's from a new bag or new batch (in the case of cans) be SUSPICIOUS, put that bag or batch aside and get some new food.  While it could be they got bored, which could happen in the middle of a case or bag of cat food, it could also be that something was changed with the manufacturing.  It may not be anything bad, just different, or it may be something bad like an aflatoxin in the bagthat your animal can smell but you cannot.
