It's right above her tail between her back and her thigh. I just noticed it. She was acting weird yesterday and seemed to be in pain while urinating and peeing in strange spots (laundry baskets). I assumed she had a uti but now I see this spot.

Looks like an abscess to me, when they burst they leave a hole like that. Whatever it is, it's a wound, so the thing to do is to get a wound spray for cats from a farm supply store or maybe in the pet section of a store and keep it moist. The best thing to do of course is to let a vet examine it or take in those pictures and show them to the vet. They can advise you from there. Abscess are from bites, usually, and swell up with infection before they burst. A little later the fur falls out from around the wound. I get an OTC antibiotic from the vet and start administering ti when I see that swelling on my ferals. Watch your little one for signs of infection, lethargy, feels warm, stops eating, etc. a antibiotic still may be necessary. If it is an abscess, it is a little one, I have a little female who has one right now the size of a quarter. They have to hurt! PS she might have been acting weird because it was ready to burst and hurt, did you find any kind of discharge, like a spray, on her bedding or on the floor? If she continues to pee so much it could be an infection and she will have to be brought in, good luck!

She needs to see a vet. If she is peeing outside her box that definitely means she is experiencing pain when using the box. In a cat's brain they think if they pee someplace else the pain will go away. No clue what is above her tail, but you need to act since she will pee everywhere.

Is the fixed?
