DRAT AND DARN!  Monday, while watching TV, I thought of the coolest question for today, didn't write it down, and have no CLUE what it was!  So you'll have to muddle through with what I could come up with on the fly...although your answer will tell more about you than you might realize!

What is your favorite flower?

I love daisies.  And German Chamomile, which looks very much like a miniature daisy.  They are simple and sweet, and require nothing more than a patch of stony ground, some sun and rain, and there they are.  When I married my first husband, I wore a peasant dress of unbleached muslin, carried daisies and baby's breath, and wore a wreath of them in my hair (yeah, I was the complete hippie).

Snapdragons.  They come in so many different colors, they make wonderful cut flowers, they have an array of delightful fragrances and most of all you can squeeze their little faces and make their mouths open and close.

Having a senior moment? I have them more and more now days.

I'm not really into flowers but if I had to pick one it would be either red roses or red tulips. I had to type this message 8 different times. Now that's a senior moment.

Orchids and cactus-es! My  favorite two flowers. I grow them both in my house. I love when cactus is blooming, soo beautiful, royal and mystic. Orchids because of beauty and they are fairly easy to grow.

I like to call them brain farts.
And I have them more often than I'd care to admit.

I love carnations. Really smelly, spicy carnations. Rick used to buy big bouquets of red and white carnations and they were lovely.

I don't think I could pick just one flower. I've been gardening for so many years and they all are my favorites.

If I had to pick a few (see what I did there) it would be roses, the really large "dinner plate" dahlias and peonies.

I really like carnations also. I know a lot of people don't care for them, but I think it's an under-rated flower.  That spiciness really is enjoyable!

Snaps were one of the first flowers I grew way back when.  I love the color variations they come in.

Unfortunately I haven't had very good luck with them at my current home.  Everywhere else they did fine.

Ooo Chamomile! I like putting that into pots with other herbs. They are SO fragrant!

It's a toss up between roses and callas lilies.  I love red roses and callas lilies together in a bouquet. I love all colors of roses.  Of course I can't have lilies in the house because of the kitties and that is okay.

But you CAN have roses?  I can't have any flowers in the house - real OR artificial.  My cats just destroy them, first time I am asleep lol. I tried cactus and that ended up with perforated leaves.  The cats had to 'taste' each and every leaf on the plant - aerated!

I know, you meant you can't have lilies as they are toxic to cats.  I just had to respond to the other meaning ha ha haaa.

Like others, I find it hard to pick just one.  Flowers, plants, gardening, I enjoy it all very much.

Petunias are my favorite flowers. the trailing tidal wave or Super Wave variety. I have them growing all over my property. I found out they do reseed and grow. the trick is to not cover the seeds but the soil must be 60 degrees or more. I had a hanger of superwave petunias sitting in the stone (loose stones-pebbles) walkway and left it there all summer then the fall. the following summer I started seeing sprouts of petunia babies all over. I watered them..and they came back as deep pink color. last year I had a few striped ones. Mostly that deep pink/purple color. I don't know what it is with petunias...they are so pretty. I used to be a good gardener and have them growing over the boulder at the corner of my property. The variety is called Tidal Wave Petunias. They grow 5 feet up and five feet out. I only needed 5 or 6 plants and of course lots of compost. and the liquid fertilizer..the past few years it's been way too hot to garden and the drought as well as the town jacking the water prices so maybe this year we will try them again. Petunias have a particular smell to them and they attract the hummingbirds. I have several pairs of hummingbirds every summer....my favorite thing..

I think I have more flower species in my yard then there are! One of my favorites though is moss rose, so easy to grow and it comes back every year. I love mums too with all their different colors, and I grow a 'fern leaf' marigold that is only a couple of inches high with tiny daisy like bright yellow flowers that I especially love too, and have carried seed from house to house for 10 years now!
