Hi @teamcarp33  I've been lurking on this thread but haven't posted yet. You're doing a wonderful job. That little buff and white girl is so sweet. Those pictures of them nestling in your hand just break my heart. They really are teeny weeny!

Looking forward to more updates. Come on little kitties! Keep eating!

This is fantastic!!! We need 3 and 5 to get above 100 grams and into the safety zone this weekend. I know they can! It sounds like kitten 1 will be over 100 grams come tomorrow. I'm very excited over how well they are all doing! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

We're starting the weekend off strong! This morning kitten 1 weighed 104g, little buff was 91 and little orange was 84!!! I've actually backed way off with the supplementing because the littles have been nursing so well. The last day or so they have been so milk drunk after their turn with mama that I don't think they could fit any KMR in those big bellies. I think I'll have to start again as they grow, but for right now she has enough milk and I'm sure that's the best thing for them. Will stick to a night and day 2-3 hr rotation through the weekend and reevaluate Sunday night.

I realized that the littlest little orange is now bigger than the biggest big was the first time I weighed them! Big tab was 2.9 ounces, or about 82 grams (the first time I weighed in oz before switching to grams). That's hard to believe!

They are a week old today. So glad that first week is done, they seem so much sturdier now. I tried to recreate the first picture I took of one of the Orange littles (I think it was the girl actually) with little orange boy but he was not into it.

Fantastic! Let's hope it continues. If a kitten fails to gain enough, you'll need to supplement. The rotating is definitely helping. They are coming along nicely so far!

Would love to see a picture of the chicks when they hatch too! [emoji]128035[/emoji]

As of this morning, all of the kittens are over 100 grams! Littlest little was at 101. They had a great day saturday, then the littlest little and little buff didnt gain very much yesterday. I think it may have just been that they gained so much Saturday (12 g each!), but I was a little worried considering that the work week was starting again and all 10 will have to be together with mom for 7-8 hours during the day. I can tell that after about 2 days of me working the littles slow down a bit on their weight gains. So, I went back to supplementing a few times during the night and morning (just only supplementing right before they go back in for their turn with mama, not right after they finish their turn as they are usually really full then). Somehow at the 4 am switch last night when I was taking the bigs out and putting the littles in, I accidentally left Big Tab in, so shes gotten EVEN FATTER. The littles still did well overnight though, so I guess no harm done. The most exciting news is that the third littlest (little orange girl), and the little buff girl are starting to open their eyes!!! Will update tonight with weights and a couple pics, because they are so STINKING CUTE.

In other less fortunate news, no chicks have hatched yet, and they are officially late. Still hopeful though...

Oh, also a friend of mine who is very good at delicate things came over and we cut all their nails for the first time. My biggest fear is for mama to get mastitis, that would be so devastating right now. Any more tips to help prevent this?

Wow, everyone is over 100 grams. That's awesome! Things are still precarious though, as being just over 100 grams is in the newly born birth range. Still, they sound as though they are all doing well. It's good you've returned to supplementing. You can see the difference it makes!

Keep mom's nipples from chapping, drying, and cracking by applying coconut oil twice a day.

How exciting that eyes are beginning to open!

I sure hope the chicks hatch for you! Did your second breeder lamp arrive?

Yes, the second brooder did come. Although, the kittens have pretty much outgrown needing it in the main nest. I only turn it on while all 10 are there together since there's not enough room for all 10 to be close to mama. I don't *really* think they need it then either at this point, but I'll keep turning it on through this week just to be sure. They are also about to outgrow their main nest box and the small rotation box! Also, soon I will have to figure out a new set up for them for when they start walking. I'm still in denial about how insane their room is going to be once they really get going. For now, going one day at a time and getting them into bigger boxes for the next week and a half.

The chicks are super duper late now, but as of this morning one had hatched, and two more were working on it.

Oh my.. Aweeeeeeeeee  The first pic i see the syringe and some yummy for the baby kitties.. so sweet their tummies.. the towel with the hand.. their eyes opening.. Their little paws still curled in at their feet, what perfect little kitties.. so precious they look like little elf kittie faeries.. Still only halfway here on earth.. and half in dreamland.. they r doing so well.. i was so afraid .. i have read many posts about kittens being born of late.. and there can be no failures for them to thrive or the ending comes swift and final.. You have kept them warm and fed.. and safe.. all ten!!! What a wonderful job. You have made a difference, not just talk.. your actions are helping these babies to grow and find their forever lives, People who need and will love.. Thank you for updating .. honestly i watch everyday to see them grow. Makes my day.

They still look so tiny! It's exciting that eyes are beginning to open. Actually, your kittens will only be 2 weeks old this weekend, and need a heat source until they are 3 weeks old. Despite how they appear, they are unable to regulate their own body temperature until they are 3 weeks old, so please continue using the brooders until then.

How are their weights? Are they all enjoying good gains?

So glad to hear that your chicks are beginning to hatch! Do you candle the eggs?

Thank you everyone for the encouragement and kind words, it has been very very helpful to my state of mind! They are still so tiny, its kind of weird to see a kitten to physically small but much more developed. Yes, I am still using the brooders in the rotation box when they are away from mom and when all 10 are together with her. Just not using it when she has only 5 kittens with her as they are staying very warm then, and she seems to be getting a little hot (when she comes out for a break she jumps straight down to the floor and lays out like a frog with her belly on the floor.

Their weights look really good to me, but I will post this evenings for feedback.

I do candle the eggs, probably way way more often than necessary, but it is just SO amazing to get that glimpse into a developing chick. My favorite is when its just a little spider of veins, but you can see the heart beat after only like 5 or 6 days of incubation.
