I cannot believe January is almost over!!  This month was a blur!!  I am finally feeling almost 100% better.  Very close to it.  I told DH that after I was better we were going to celebrate by getting my favorite antipasto salad and a calzone from a local place.  It's a little far for everyday eating but it's not too far out of the way when we go to church. So yesterday we stopped after church and man was it goooood!  I could really go for another antipasto salad right now. They put slices of fresh mozzarella, slices of ham, salami and provolone cheeses, fresh and pickled veggies and their homemade dressing alone is AMAZING! And then they serve it with fresh bread and whipped butter.
I've made that my meal instead of sharing it before.
Fortunately I have plenty of the broccoli & cheese calzone with their homemade sauce leftover.  That can be my lunch. But I really want another salad!

So keeping my recent food theme: What's for dinner at your house tonight?

I'm trying a recipe I saw on facebook for french dip sandwiches cooked in a slow cooker.  My DD says it smells good so I hope it tastes as good as it looked online!

Maybe baked chicken and whatever else (rice, broccoli probably)  if I can swing it time-wise.  Have to p/u Casper from an ultrasound so I might not have enough time to cook it tonight. If not, it will be fast food.  Ugh.

Pork loin and something.  I did the loin last night, with a mushroom sauce, and it is big enough for 4 meals.  Have to use it up, or freeze it!

No dinners. I stopped cooking last summer. Breakfast is my favorite meal, but I have no desire for a proper meal at dinner time.

Tonight we are having baked, herbed chicken thighs with gravy, mashed sweet potatoes corn and stove top stuffing (it's my guilty weakness)

We had a 'half-off your entire order' coupon for a new restaurant so took advantage of it tonight - they have soups, salads and protein bowls.  I had a roasted veggie & quinoa soup with a nuts & berries salad.  All meals come with a roll and chocolate covered strawberry.

Leftovers.  I had some leftover slow cooker vegan pinto beans that I made a few days ago, and last night we went out to dinner and I brought home the extra goat cheese/arugula/roasted beet salad, so I had beans and salad for dinner.

Well, we ended up with slices of grilled ham on the indoor grill with a grilling sauce I made from orange-pineapple jam and cheese omelets last night.

Just a sandwich for me. I work in the evening and Mr Husband goes to the gym then goes for steak right after to get his protein fix.
