Hi all, i am kind of new here and recently my female Cat had diagnosed with pneumonia.

She had history of on and off sneezing/coughing for 2 months and had been to vet for 5 times, mostly treated as URI with antibiotics. The last visit, i decided to do an xray and vet said that theres a fluid in her lung. She was given a week supply of antibiotic and a medicine for her lung. vet will be closed until next wednesday due to a festive so she at home now.

She is 1 year and half, a flat face. Currently no runny nose unless she got the sneeze attack. Coughing attact sometimes last about 10-15sec. And sometimes i saw her swollowing hard.

She eating/ drinking fine. walking around following me asking for foods, climb her cat tree & my bed and sometimes begging me to play catch with her by dragging her stuff toys to me. It got me worried as she would breath really fast afterword. I could never caged her/ confined her in a room that makes her stress out.

anyone with experience of home care for cat with pneumonia? Should i stop playing with her? Her fast breathing really scare me, but sometime she would breath normally and even sleeps on her back with four legs up.
Can she recover from pneumonia?

If your bet would have been consider that the cat cannot recover, he/she will not treat the cat in this way.

So, trust your vet. The cat  will  heal.

Still, make sure your in-house micro-climate is OK. Care is important.

Temperature at the floor level? Heating system? Insulation? Windows type? Heating cycle?

If the cat is an indoor one, I would worry for your health as well. Please, no offence. I am just trying to help.

@solomonar
Thanks. She been sick for 2 months, on off medication and im worry about her recovery. vet said that i should be glad she still eating.

Our floor is a tile. She hates all kind or carpet or anything. Should would prefer to stay in kitchen tile. Yes she is fully indoor and i let her out around 10minute sometime to play with my 3other cats. she wasnt been out for more than a month.

Im all good. So does my 3 other cats.

Then this particular cat has a specific behavior that caused her to get sick while the others are ok.

I woulndt blame genetics for pneumonia.

Temperature variation?

I was been once in a room where the insulation was very bad. I didnt notice because the heating system was turned full-speed. But the owner stopped the heating because was "warm enough". The variation in the temperature was then high. I  was trembling, but a friend of mine, in same circumstances was OK.

I am trying to say that heating system management plays a role and some are just not affected.

I see no reason to stop playing. Well, not making the cat to run for his life...:-) Im joking.  I mean, be soft.... short... less jumps.

Playing with other cats? I am not so sure. This is a medical advice, so better ask you vet.

Sorry but yeah.. degrees Celsius..

She stops running around with them, i think due to her lung but the other like to tease her. They still sharing bowl and litter box tho she got her fav in my bedroom so she often go there. I know in medical advise, i should have separated them but she wasnt happy in the room alone and starts yelling.

Right now she kinda have heavy deep breathing while napping..
