Halloween night, 2016:

Bud is a happy, outgoing little guy. Every time the doorbell rings, people are surprised to see Buddy right there next to me, all curious about who's at the door and taking in all the sights, smells and costumes. Bud isn't the type of cat who runs into the bedroom and dives under the bed when strange people are around.

I had him dressed in his little penguin costume from last year, and everybody thinks it's cute, but Bud doesn't like it and takes it off. I figure he's worn it enough and don't put it back on him.

Then the doorbell rings again, and it's a group of kids chaperoned by two young moms. One of the moms is dressed as a princess or a faerie or something, and she sees Bud.

"Oh, she's so beautiful!" Young Mom says, misgendering Bud (how rude!) and bending down to pet him.

So for the next minute or so Young Mom is petting Bud, asking me questions, remarking on how soft and silky his coat is. I can see his tail start to swish. I try to warn her, because now I see Bud's tail thumping the floor in agitation, but she's still talking and...

SMACK!

Bud raised one paw and smacked Young Mom hard across the face. I "scolded" him, like "Buddy! That's not nice!" but I have to admit I thought it was hilarious. Luckily Young Mom didn't take offense...at least not much. Maybe now she knows a little bit more about how to pet cats, and how to tell when they're going from enjoying it to being overstimulated.

What's the rudest thing your cat has ever done?

Peed in the shoes of an electric company worker....
Our meter needed to be changed, and they sent the rudest guy they could find. Our meter is in a separate small room (like a slightly larger broom closet) next to the hallway, and this guy took off his shoes and left them at the front door.

My two cats are also VERY curious and will usually beat me to the door when someone is at the door. They will also investigate any visitor. Especially my Siamese cat Kobus is convinced it's his job to make sure everyone feels welcome.
The electric company guy hated cats, felt the need to tell me that very rudely, and then shoved Kobus aside with his foot.
When he left and put on his shoes he found out he had a shoe full of cat pee. Kobus has never before or after peed anywhere except his litter box.

Muffy and Buddy used to always sneeze in my face. That used to make me so mad, especially when they did it in the middle of the night. I really miss those two.

Now he knows not to mess with cats!

But seriously, I HATE when people do that -- shove cats aside with their feet. And I hate it when people say, "It's just a cat." What is that supposed to mean? Cats are beautiful animals first and foremost, but the cats in our homes are members of our famililes.

My youngest daughter, who is a vegan, visited me right before Christmas and while we were eating our vegetarian lunch, Chula threw up a big smelly meaty mass right at my daughter's feet.  I was mortified.  Chula does throw up occasionally but she has never thrown up right in front of anyone before.   Fortunately, my daughter is an animal lover and took it well, despite turning slightly green.

Well, my story doesn't quite compare.  But it was kinda rude when a cat not owned by me decided to walk into my house and claim my coffee table.  Um, don't I have a say as to who enters and who stays?

By our human standards, the most rude thing our cats have done led to them finally getting fixed... it was when Hades started literally spraying us! By his standards, he was just letting everyone know we belong to him, but oh my... that was gross... Poor Rune got sprayed three times! Hopefully, now that they're fixed, that won't happen anymore.

Off topic slightly, but I was at the SPCA petting zoo one time, there were some caged animals, and the second cage had a lion, a tiger and a third large cat (don't remember the type).  The guy who did the feeding got too close to the cage and the lion lifted tail and aimed for him.  I guess the lion did that a lot, the guy jumped to the side so quick the spray didn't get on him.

I thought all vegans were animal lovers.

Red state blues.

I hope you called the electric company.  That is unacceptable.  I do wish that utility and cable companies would consider the needs of employees with *legitimate* issues, though, and not send out people with allergies to homes with pets.

Anyway, the rudest thing one of my cats ever did was to pee on the clothes of my new boyfriend, the first time he stayed over at my house.  Fortunately, he was a forgiving soul, and a fellow animal lover.  We were together for five years, in spite of that less than auspicious beginning.

My cat Pushy has become a pervy old man as he's gotten older. Pretty much every time we have a good cuddle session these days ends when his penis pops out and he starts licking it. :cringe:

My cat Buddy used to do that. One time he did it on the vets table. I was so embarrased.

I was having a dish washer installed one time and the plumber from Loews  was scarred of cats. He said he was allergic but I could tell he was scarred of them. Tiger ran behind the couch and the whole time the plummer kept staring at the couch because he was afraid my cat would come out and get him.

My sister has a home business set up in the granny house. She'll bring over clients to try on clothes or pick up orders. Every time, without fail, at least one cat will be sitting outside waiting for the client to be done and then follow them out. Most of the time it ends up being all three shadowing them out of the yard. Luckily, the clients rarely notice their silent escort.

Russell, my 10 year old feral tom, has never been picked up but does let us stroke his head. I was sitting there at the picnic table reading a magazine and he came up, turned around, and sprayed all over my legs! All I could do was yell, and that didn't faze him a bit! Now I make sure his 'business' end is pointed away from me.
