My Sandy has had some kind of roughness under her chin, and scratches there frequently. She also really liked chin rubs, I think because its so itchy. Today I hadn't seen her for a while so I shook treats to get her out and I noticed it was red under her chin now. It looked like she broke open a scab or scratched until it bled!!... Is there something we can do for her right away?? Anyone know what might have caused this?? Yes I'm going to call her vet as soon as they open up tomorrow! It was hard to get a pic where its visible, but you can see under her mouth it has dried blood

Yes, it's probably feline acne, aka chin acne.  The first thing to do is exactly what Primula advised, switch from plastic bowls, if that's what you are using.  Some people also  have gotten good results actually cleaning their chins with Stridex

Here's an article on feline acne:  http://www.thecatsite.com/a/feline-acne

You can also do a search from the top of the page and fine many threads on this topic

Another vote for chin acne.

Link had it but as soon as we switched to a stainless steel bowl and regularly cleaning that it cleared up.
