Myself, my wife and Tibbs will be moving from Ireland to Germany this year.

Tibbs' favourite cat food is Go Cat 'chicken & Duck'. They were out of it in my local shop the other day, and I had to buy a different flavour from the same brand. "No way!", said Tibbs.

I then bought a similar flavour to the usual one from a different brand. "No way!", said Tibbs.

Dear Lord! What's that going to be like in Germany? I don't think they have that brand of cat food in Germany. Of course, we can bring some of her favourite cat nuts from here to get her settled; but we will have to switch food eventually.

Any experiences with this regard?

Has Tibbs been on the same food for a long time? Cats can get very fussy if they're only fed one brand or flavour. That's why we recommend having lots of different food on your rotation.

I suggest you buy a variety of canned food and see if there is one she likes. Try putting a spoonful of her regular brand on top of the new stuff to get her interested.

@jcat  might be able to recommend some good brands available in Germany.

The bad news is that you won't be able to get Go. The good news is that there are lots of good brands in Germany. Your best bet is to start trying various brands now while you can mix them. Taking a look at the zooplus website will give you an idea of the most popular brands, including several grain-free ones she might find acceptable. Other good websites are pets-nature.de and zooundco24.de

Thanks, guys, for your responses. That makes sense. I used to get her a different go Cat flavour every time I bought a new box, but at some stage we got stuck with the duck. I have 2 alternative brands at home now and we'll rotate that.

Thanks for your advice. :)
