We just got a kitten. He's the most adorable kitten ever. However I've noticed an issue with me and his purring. He purrs louder than any cat I've ever had in my life. It's a deep purr that vibrates his entire body. When he purrs next to my head something happens and I get sick to my stomach almost instantly. I feel like I'm on a boat and getting sea sick. Now it happens if he's with in a foot of me while purring. I can't let him near me because I get nauseous to the point where i'm miserable.

Has anyone else ever dealt with this before?

My cat used to purr very loud. before  6-7 months old. Now he is around 8 months old and purrs so than I barely notice.

Comparing of purr loudness may be very well a matter of individual circumstances.

Perhaps YOU should see a doctor because it's possible you've got something going on with your inner ear, as you so aptly stated in your subject line.

Maybe YOU shouldn't be so condescending when giving advice. My ears are fine. The kittens purr is so loud I can hear it up stairs. It just took a few hours to get used to it. Doesn't bother me anymore.

How does the purring of your other cats affect you?

I'm sorry you felt I was being condescending.  That wasn't my intent at all.  I was truly thinking perhaps you could have a problem with your inner ear that could be causing this issue.  Meant no offense.
