I have more fun with these questions!  So, what is your favorite genre of music?  What is your least favorite?  I know, it is two questions, but I didn't wanna wait a week to find out both!

Favorite is hard for me, but I narrowed it down to two.  Celtic Traditional, and Gregorian Chant & Plainsong.  Least is Country Western.  That said, there are a select few artists that I really like, and a couple of dozen songs outside of those artists, but by and large I can take it or leave it, and would kinda rather leave it.

Choosing a favourite is hard. I like Rock, Goth, Punk, Folk, Blues, Trip Hop, Reggae and Country and Western (Well, I like Johnny Cash. That's C&W, right?)

Least favourite would be J-Pop. That's not music. That's saccharine coated hell.

I like pop a lot.. least favorite is country. When I worked at the shelter cleaning dog kennels that was what the radio station was on when I worked 5 days a week and I cannot stand it now.

Classic rock. Even before it was classic, it was my favorite. Still is. I have my favorite classic rock groups; long may they reign!

Least favorite is any kind of country. My mother listened to country and I remember coming home from school and having to listen to Jim Reeves.

Rap is a very close second  to country (it may be tied!).

I remember when I came home from work one day and my son was blaring 2 Live Crew (or however it was spelled). I listened to it for a couple minutes, walked back to his bedroom, opened the door, and pulled my finger across my throat. He immediately turned it off. I said, "Look, I love you. I never, ever thought I'd ever say this to you, but.....get that CD out of this house. NOW!" He saw the look on my face and it was the one that said DO NOT
WITH ME! He didn't say a word. Turned off his stereo and took the CD out to his car. I never heard it again. He probably played it in the house when I wasn't home, but he never again played it in front of me.

Favorite is hard rock/heavy metal. I also like a lot of classic rock. I have Sirius XM and they have some pretty great channels for people like me.

I don't like country- especially what they call country now. It's just pop with a twang. I do like Johnny Cash may he RIP. DH had some of his albums on vinyl. I got rid of a bunch of the vinyl that I knew I'd never listen to but  I held onto Johnny. Live at Folsom Prison is pretty epic.

I also dislike 99% of Christmas music. Another benefit to having Sirius XM? I didn't hear one note of Christmas music unless I was in a store that had it piped in. We have a local FM station that starts playing it 24/7 the day after Halloween.

Love the Big Band sound of the 1940's.  And music from the 1960's.  For me, just about anything after 1980 is not "music to my ears."

Too many "likes".  80's new wave, punk, alternative, classical, progressive and classic rock, opera, Celtic, folk, most jazz, blues, some electronica/dance/trance.

Much less dislikes but the ones I don't enjoy at all (or very rarely) are Country Western and Rap.

I actually have 3 favorites - Motown, the Oldies and when I'm in the car I often listen to Classical, (WFMT radio).

My least favorite by far is Country Western, although I do like Dolly!

I like the old time rock 'n' roll and folk music. I can't stand Big Band. My husband played Big Band on his trombone until I was nauseated.

LOL. Pam saved me the trouble of typing my reply though I need to add classical music to mine. I have two YouTube playlists - one rock, one classical.

Lordy, I remember Jim Reeves. Before the Beatles came along when I was 12 we had to listen to Jim Reeves, et al. and all the other rubbish my parents listened to. Yawn. After 1963 my parents had no access to their radio ever again.

In addition to rap, I also hate reggae. The beat is so horrible.

OK...I'm admitting my guilty semi-pleasure.  I've actually learned to appreciate poli-rap.  Rap based in social change and politics, rather than gansta-rap.  I learned to semi-like it because my younger son is a poli-rap artist and song(?) writer, and I had to listen to his stuff.  It's about changing the world, not destroying it, so there you go.

my two favorites would be Bossa Nova, and Big Band/Swing. just happy, positive music with a good beat. and, hey, i can understand the words in the songs too!

i also like jazz, some smooth jazz, and some country -- the older stuff, like Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline. i also enjoy Dolly Parton.

dislikes would be pretty much any music played overly loudly/blaring, rap, and new age (puts me to sleep).

I loved Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline but do not like country music.

My favorite music is that old time rock & roll.
