My cat Shadow has the weirdest feeling coat.  It feels like cotton tuffs.  It's not smooth and silky like my other long-haired cat.

Is there a long-haired cat breed that has fur that is cotton-y?  The only other clue to anything in her genetic make-up is that she has a squished muzzle.  Not flat like a persian, but maybe half the length of ordinary mixed breed cats.

A photo is the best way to get a guess on breed or possible heritage.

As to the coat, I have three cats with different coats.  Nightfury is soft and sily. Rocket is fluffy cotton candy soft yet super sleek and fine.Link is course and rough. Of them Rocket and Link look like they could be related, at first glance, based on coloring. However, Link and Rocket are complete opposites in body shape and size.

From what you are saying, likely some Persian ancestry with a squished face some Persians have a cotten furred coat with is very soft (and easily tangled, which would make it not so silky if not regularly brushed) so those two together could point to a Persian great grandparent or such.
