Is it possible my cat is putting off labor?

Ok so my cat is roughly 10 months old, for a while there about close to three months ago she escaped and got outside while she was on heat. Now I know she's pregnant I can feel the kittens moving for over a week now, she's shown all the signs of nesting and such however I've waited and waited and nothing, no kittens. The only other thing I've noticed is she has been leaking black stuff for about a week which is strange because I thought the mucus plug comes out all at once. Help! [emoji]128532[/emoji]

Leaking black stuff? Can you give a more detailed description of the discharge? Does it smell foul? Could it be blood?

Kittens are born 2-3 weeks after you see and feel them moving.

Can you please post a picture of your cat and the discharge?

I would really suggest a visit to the vet. Phone and ask at least.  Black discharge isnt the common.  Brownish water because of some blood content is common, but black?

Does the kitten still move?  If they move its perhaps not that serious.

ps. Otherwise, pregnancies may seem looong. "the waiting game" is the " favorite" pastime of our fourmites.  NOT.   Also, cats normally manage a little too long preg better than humans.  Its too early deliviries which are dangerous for the kittens.  So normally, if the momma is healthy, its just to wait and see.

But black discharge - at best you mean brownish discharge...   Black isnt common and sounds highly suspicious, alarming.

Pregancy may be as  60-70 days, with 65-66 the most common.   I presume when you say almost 3 months, you simply lost count.  Which is easy happen.

I just had another look and it looks like a tiny bit of dried blood maybe? She's been licking herself like crazy for about a week but now she's too big she can't reach her behind, I will post a pic of the discharge as soon as more appears, it's not a lot of it and it dries before I get to it so no smell. I was hoping it was just her mucus plug releasing slowly? She's never had any problems, always been healthy, and the kittens are still moving. She seems very depressed and won't let anyone touch her anywhere other then a pat on the head.

As you describe it now, everything seems fairly normal.   Be watchful and prepare as well you can, but you can wait and see.

What you now describe - the constant licking, milk coming in, seeming miserable, bloody show - these are all normal signs for a cat in early labor or about to enter labor. Just be patient for now. It sounds like she is getting there!

Splendid!  Beaming!  Proud almost  as a near relative!!!   Beautiful momma and very promising children!

Re the white one.  Its probably a point, ("siamese-mix"),  you will see in about one week if his face, ears, tail begin to darken up. He will probably be a lynx point.  Meaning tabby marked on the point.

I'm so happy for you! What a beautiful family! I kept the white one in my cat's litter, ten years ago. He has gorgeous blue eyes, flame point tabby markings, snow white fur, and a BIG mouth! He talks all the time, but what do you expect from oriental genes? he is one of the most interesting characters I have ever met. I pray you have much fun with all those new little ones, they are a precious gift!

Congratulations! [emoji]128571[/emoji]

Make sure all 6 babies are latching and nursing well. Weigh them daily. With 6, there may be a runt or two who may need supplementing. Kittens need to gain 6-10 grams or more daily.

Make sure mom has plenty of dry kitten chow, wet food, and water at all times to give her energy for nursing. Put her litter box nearby too.
