My female kitten leaves these things since she arrived at 6 weeks old. She nearly 4 month old now , and still leaves them.
Take a look.
What is this?

I had a cat with tapeworms are they were visible about half the size of standard white rice grain. The other thing I'd ask is what kind of litter are you using? If it's a corn based (world's best etc) or sawdust (feline pine etc) it might be sticking to her fur and falling off as it dries.
Most worms and other parasites are very tiny almost microscopic (think nits). This looks more like litter or sand to me. But hard to tell. Maybe take another picture with a ruler or penny for size comparason
I will as soon as I can.I would bag some up and bring them into your vet, I'll bet they can look at them under a microscope and figure out what they are. Make sure you tell us!
Yup exactly the point I was thinking. Need a microscope to tell what these are. Looks like nits of some sort but can't tell from pictures.I would bag some up and bring them into your vet, I'll bet they can look at them under a microscope and figure out what they are. Make sure you tell us!
Yuk, Just googled It, and that's what it looks. And she has been sleeping on my bed...I know it's gross but they clearly look like tape worm segments. I think your baby needs a visit to the vet either way. Wash your hands[emoji]128556[/emoji] We've all been there picking that up wondering what it is!!
She has been sleeping on my bed all the time. Is It dangerous to me?I've been there...you will be fine. Have her sleep on a towel until you get her to the vet. She has been living with these a few months now so I wouldn't shun her too much because of these. It's a simple fix a tapeworm pill now and one in two weeks. She ate a flea and it did this inside of her. Give her a little love [emoji]10084[/emoji]️ until it's all taken care of it's not her fault.
I am a human doctor, not a vet. Those little objects could perhaps be Feline tapeworm segments, but it is notoriously difficult to diagnose from a photograph and they should be confirmed as tapeworm segments by a vet before any further action is taken. She has been sleeping on my bed all the time. Great reply, thanks.I am a human doctor, not a vet. Those little objects could perhaps be Feline tapeworm segments, but it is notoriously difficult to diagnose from a photograph and they should be confirmed as tapeworm segments by a vet before any further action is taken.
Cats acquire tapeworms from fleas and infected raw meat. The most common feline tapeworms are the Taenia species and echinococcus but these are not a common human infestation and I have never heard of a human cross infestation from a cat in over sixty years of medical practice.
In order to be infested, a human would have to eat the same infested raw meat as the cat has been given - most unlikely in any civilised community - or to swallow a cat flea from an infested cat. This latter is conceivable but again most unlikely. Whatever, as posted by @hexiesfriend, you should have your kitten sleep on a towel. And of course you must wash your hands before meals and after handling these little objects until matters have been resolved by your vet.
With all best wishes, and please keep us posted,
Geoffrey
