I have a female cat that is around 8-9 months old, she is unspayed and started getting outside in the middle of November, we couldn't stop her getting out due to having every time the tumbler dryer is on she would escape. She is showing signs of pregnancy like eating a lot more than usual, her stomach is swollen and hard, I have had a gentle feel and I can feel lumps but not sure if that's normal or not as I have never felt her tummy before that because she didn't like tummy rubs. Her nipples have not enlarged but they are pink, if she is pregnant then I don't think she is far gone as she is a very small and slim cat and when I look at her from above her stomach is bigger that the rest of her body.

Almost definitely pregnant. Have you fixed the dryer so she can't get out anymore? Do you plan to spay after this litter?

Yes I have, I put cardboard boxes in front of the window now so she can't get out, yes we will be spaying once she has the kittens or if she isn't pregnant.

I wouldn't assume that cardboard would keep a determined cat in heat inside. You may want to keep her behind closed doors as well.

That's the thing though, I haven't actually seen her on heat before, the first few nights she started getting out she was with a black cat which was much bigger than her, I'm not sure if it was male but it was following her around everywhete, I never seen them mate though as it was very dark and she wouldn't come in for a while [emoji]128533[/emoji]

Cats can have silent heats.

That, and male cats can smell when she's in heat before she starts to have obvious (to humans) symptoms. And the act of mating brings them out of heat. So a cat can come into heat, be mated, and be out of heat before you even notice.

AND, female cats can get pregnant even if they aren't in active heat, because the act of mating stimulates ovulation. So if a male took her by force :/, she could get pregnant without ever being in heat.

It's usually safe to assume that any unspayed female who has gotten outside or has been around a tomcat is pregnant.

Thank you! I will just assume she is pregnant for now then, how long until I know for sure do you think? Another thing, do cats bring mice in the house of their pregnant too? She got out again the other day and brought a dead mouse into the house(first time ever) and she wouldn't let go of it, she wasn't eating it though, she was just holding it in her mouth and tried to take it into my wardrobe [emoji]128563[/emoji]

Hi, so I posted on here a couple of weeks ago thinking my cat was pregnant but she didn't turn out to be. When I found out she wasn't pregnant ive been saving to get her spayed, I had a holiday booked so my sister looked after her for a week and when I got back she told me she got out of her house and was gone for a whole day! This was the 22nd of march she got out, so it has been over three weeks since she got out and now her nipples are very pink and getting larger, she is a very small cat, she is only one years old. I would just like a second opinion on her nipples? She would be nearly 4 weeks pregnant if she mated on the 22nd but she doesn't seem to have a bigger belly at all, its only her nipples that indicate pregnancy. Also yes this was an accident and yes I will be getting her spayed immediately after her litter also will be getting the kittens spayed or neutered before they go to their new homes also.

Yes, she is surely preg anew.

If you dont insist to have kittens with her, I would recommend to spay her as soon you can arrange it.

No, I do not mind her having this litter, I couldn't spay her while she is pregnant. I already have 5 star homes for the kittens but she will definitely be booked in as soon as she has finished nursing her kittens :)

Hi, so my cat is now 65 days pregnant today, this is her first and last litter! She has shown no signs of nearing labour until last night, she was licking her genitals for a good 10 minutes and then got up and was walking around my bedroom meowing very loudly, this went on for a while until she layed down and just went to sleep. She has been meowing again this morning but not for long. I can feel the kittens moving a lot still and her appetite hasn't decreased at all which I've been told it does just before they go into labour. How many days pregnant were everyone else's cats when they went into labour?

My guess is, what you saw were precontractions, they come a couple of days before the real labor. Braxton-Hicks??

The waiting game isnt pleasant, but still, be prepared, watch and enjoy!
