good afternoon!

our minds are amazing things! we learn new things throughout our whole lives, and remember much of what we've learned. and we learn all sorts of different things -- everything from how to read/write to interesting facts and more......in a constant 'stream' .

so for today's Question of the Day, let's talk about things we've learned......

What was the most recent thing you've learned?  (can be anything! for example, how to do/fix something, something you've read about, a new food you tried that you discovered you do/don't like, something about your cat(s), and etc)

i'll start!

i've been reading a book in the historical fiction genre. in the book, some of the history of the Vatican is brought up and relevant to the story. it's very interesting! and i've also been reading more about alternate energy sources, which is fascinating to me.

how about you?

I volunteer for a children's charity and just learned about a new neurological illness I never heard of before.

I'm learning how to say the Rosary Prayer in church. These are prayers said with the rosary beads outside of the mass. Ours takes place on Wednesday morning from 7 to 7:30 a.m. The point being to say prayers simultaneously with other people. I've been once & am going to go every week.

I was a vegetarian for years, and now I am learning to cook meat.  I'm starting with hamburgers.

I am a Spanish to English translator.  I've always translated news-type articles for non-profit groups.  Now I'm translating a work of fiction and finding it's quite a different process.  Challenging and very interesting.

that's really a beautiful thing -- saying the Rosary Prayer simultaneously with others in your church!

Thanks, it is. I went for the 2nd time this morning & a lady I met last week had brought in a Rosary Prayer booklet for me. I had already printed out the prayers from online, but her booklet explains more about the mysteries. It's weird being there at 7 a.m., but I can walk there in 5 minutes or so.
