A cat pulls their ears back and runs as fast as they can somewhere else? Freya does this a lot and it's obvious she's not upset, or mad, or even frightened, it almost even seems like she's playing? But I thought if a cat puts their ears back then it means they're feeling agitated or upset?

She does this often if she's rubbing against you or jumping around, or just staring at you...because when you'll look at her, and she catches your eyes she'll do this with a loud trill. Does this mean she's just trying to play?

In my experiences it means they are just being playful and Lovey dovey. My CoCo and Eden both do it when they follow us back from the mail box. They are both outside cats and the only other time Eden does it is when a car goes down the road and he does his ears back and runs wide open in the opposite direction back toward the house.

Hm, I can understand that... but she also trills when I pet her when she's not paying attention, or if she wakes up and sees me looking at her...and I've taken these trills to mean "what?" "Hm?"(Since it literally sounds like she's going "Hm?") Or "yes?" From her, so when she trills while doing this run away thing it is a bit confusing.

My girl trills when I pat her and she doesn't see me coming. She also trills if she's asleep and I enter the room and it wakes her.
As for the running thing l, sometimes a cat may need to burn off energy and go for random runs, kinda like exercise. Also cats like to chase so it may be she wants you to chase her.
My girl does both of these and will also run off when playing. Will chase a ball and veer of for a sprint in a different direction.
Try and see her behaviour after. Are her pupils dilated, does her head dart around, does she seem scared if not maybe just a quirk, enjoy.
