Hi, i am mikeydoodles.. Just signed up yesterday. My cat is fifteen. X Ray showed a mass in stomach. He is drooling. He had steroids and fluids. Enema because he wasn't eating. now be is eating softloaf by nutro. Also baby food. Nutracal.

He is feeling better, runs up and down steps. He has bad breath from not swallowing correctly.. I don't know what else to do. He has good days ad bad days.

I don't want to put him to sleep yet..if he wasn't running, and jumping up when we eat, I would. He's not lethargic.

If i was in your place i would not put him down yet. But you need to ask yourself do you want advice from people online or do you want to decide for yourself. Did you try giving him senior cat food?

I also would not put him down yet. From past experience you will know when it's time. As long as he has fight in him then give him the benefit of the doubt. He will let you know when he has had enough.
For now id just do my best to give him all the love and affection you can and try to make him as happy as possible. Also look in to what Kirothecat says about the senior cat food. Maybe your vet can recommend something. I wish you both the best of luck.

My cat (profile picture) was supposed to be euthanized due to a mammary tumor in june 2015, but she died naturally in may 2016 (she was 15). I didnt want to put her down because she seemed like she had fight in her. Your cat will show you when the right time is

Just curious. Did the vet check his teeth out at all? Drooling and bad breath could be due to a bad tooth. Im sure they probably looked at that first when you took him in for these symptoms but just a thought. If they didn't it might be worth getting them looked at.
