In my limited experience ( one set of ferals trapped at 5 months, feral kittens trapped at 9-10 weeks, and one set trapped at 6 months)  it seems that the male ferals socialize faster and more completely than the females.  I thought it was just me but at the rescue vet  this week, she made the same observation.  What has your experience been?

I think it depends on the cat.

Of the 22 cats I have at the moment 18 were formerly feral. I can handle them all, but one of the girls and three of the boys only allow concessional petting, when they feel like it. They won't let me pick them up and have to be trapped if ever they need to go to the vet.

All their littler mates, half-brothers and sisters and cousins from the same colony are total lap cats though. I don't know why kittens brought indoors at the same time as their litter mates should be so different in the way they warm-up to people. Just personality I guess.
