Hi all.

My kitty started sneezing every 5-10 minutes last night and she's still doing it this morning.

Her eyes and nose look fine. Her appetite and activity levels are the same. She doesn't sneeze when she's purring.

Does anyone have any insight into what's going on?

She could have seasonal allergies, are even food allergies.  Another member had a cat who did this and it turned out she was allergic to the soy in her new food.  Who would have thought?

OR, she could have sniffed something up her nose that is now kind of stuck up there

Thanks for the reply. She went to the vet today and he thinks it's herpes :(

What did the vet suggest? My cat has herpes and he's on famciclovir, a human grade antiviral, which is actually only a little more expensive than the lysine they unsuccessfully tried to treat him with at first.

You have to keep an eye out on his eyes, as untreated herpes in the eyes can cause corneal scarring, which is why I use the famciclovir the moment I even suspect an outbreak.

The vet gave us an eye ointment and antibiotic pill. We're taking her back in monday for a follow up appointment. My husband and I are going to start supplementing both our cats food with l-lysine though. The vet just told us to keep out cats separated forever and come back in when she has flares ups. Not a super helpful dude:/
