I never wanted a cat and always preferred dogs as id had one as a child and she doted on us ! Cats on the other hand I thought were not loving go their owners and only came near you for food ! We lost a son at birth over two years ago and although I managed to go back to work and get my life back on track I still obsessed and felt I needed something in my life. We work so thought a cat may be better to leave for a few hours a day. We'd never owned a cat and knew nothing about them ! We looked online and drove to Romford to view some kittens. We get to the door of a house where there appeared mayhem in the background - children, teenagers adults smoking what smelt like pot ! A young girl came along and pulled a tiny grey tabby out of the sleeve of her housecoat handed her to my partner who was bitten straight away ! 'Are they supposed to do that he said' to which the young girl replied 'she doesn't like being cold'. They gave us a dirty bowl and some worming lotion took £60 and shut the door on us ! It transpired she was little more than 6 weeks old ! 3 months later we've gone through her beng sick on cheap commercial cat food (we didn't know that was like feeding your kitten junk food); being bitten to shreds and clawed ! Woken up at 7 on the dot with her running up and down us and nipping at our toes and head butting out faces until we give get breakfast (funny enough she can stomach the most expensive vet prescribed food and boiled chicken). She follows us everywhere, sleeps above our heads or by out feet! In the last week she has started riding on our shoulder and wrapping her body found our necks and running our cheeks so lovingly with kisses. She there lying on the floor, by the door every evening when we get in from work with her paws up and tummy ready to be rubbed! She has made us smile and laugh again and I have definitely changed my perception of cats !

Welcome to TCS daisyD :wavey:

What a strange place to get your kitten but glad that kitty is happy at your home rather than in a smokey place noisy place.

Nice to hear that she's an affectionate cat. Shower her with lots of love.

Do check out the rest of the site. There are lots of interesting and important articles that will help you raise a cat and post any questions you have in the respective forums pages and do post more photos of your kitty ;)

We are lucky as we should have researched properly however didn't have a clue. They did not let us in the house so didn't see the mother nor if there were any other from the litter. We think they were going to keep her as shd had her own matt and bowl ! She's has all her vacinations now and the vet checked her out last week and she is a good weight and healthy ! She has an appointment to be spayed next month when she is 5 months old ! I will post questions as j have a few thank you

She will keep your home and your heart occupied, that is what a kitten does! High energy, and a curiosity that doesn't quit. The nipping and biting is because she was at the age when they learn about such things from their siblings and mom, now you will have to teach her that is not acceptable by ignoring her and yelling out or hissing at her when she hurts. She still young enough to readily accept a playmate, which I recommend highly to keep her company and occupied, a male about her age so they don't fight over who is the queen of the household, as two females would do. . Two are just as easy to care for as one, and it doubles your love! Either way you go take all the cuddles you can now, Te get less affectionate as they age, although lap snuggling is a high priority in their lives, I have three quarreling over my lap at nights. They look so smug when they snag the best spot, until the next one up lays right on top of them. Bless you for giving her such a wonderful home, she loves you so very much and will be a wonderful companion and family member in the years to come. Keep us posted!

Curiosity is not the word ! She loves the bathroom now and keeps jumping in the sink ! Whenever I have a shower or brush my teeth she is thetr watching ! She slept between my partner and I this morning for hours and was puring away ! She's found the umbrella stand too and used to hide in the xmas tree
