I just adopted my girl yesterday. I bought her one of the cardboard scratchers and she has no interest, even after me spreading catnip on it. However, I noticed her jumping up and clawing at my door last night, at the closet door tonight, and on the bottom cabinets as she watched my boyfriend cook.

What cat posts/scratchers should I get her if she doesn't seem interested in the cardboard or catinip?

Many cats have preferences as to the type and material of scratcher they prefer. There are scratchers that are sisal, some that are carpet, some that are cardboard etc. Then there is positioning you have to consider: vertical, horizontal, incline etc. It may take some observation as to how and what your cat scratches and some experimentation to land on what your cat likes. Since your cat is jumping up and clawing on vertical surfaces that are harder, I thought something like this might be a good option to try:

Here's a TCS article on the subject that you may find helpful:

She might like a substantial part of a tree limb on a non-tipping base, easy to make at home.  There are many inexpensive but sturdy cat trees too.  My favorite maker for cat trees is Armarkat.  They have a huge selection, and their trees are sold on lots of sites like Amazon and Chewy.  http://www.armarkat.com/
