Please help. I calked my vet cause my cat has fleas. I have applied frontline plus over a week ago. I am sti picking dead and alive fleas off of her. I have bombed the house, used borax, vacuum every day. She is quarantined in downstairs laundryroom. There are boxes in there and insulation up on the ceiling. Is there a possible way that they r living in there? I cled an exterminator that is coming next week. Anywho, why r there still live fleas on her? And i see more flea dirt today. Please help!

Flea medicine takes time to work so be patient
One dose is usually not enough to kill all the adults and juvenile fleas and unhatched eggs so you need to follow the vet's instructions on how often to give the Frontline Plus. Frontline Plus is typically given once a month.

You may want to give your cat a bath with the blue Dawn Original dish soap or take your cat to a groomer for a flea bath.

Be careful with household extermination. Many of the chemicals used are very tocis to cats so you need to take your cat out of the home for at least a few days for all the chemical residue to diminish to safe levels. I don't know if keeping the cat in the laundry would be safe. Chemical vvapors may travel there and get in through the door gaps. Do you have a safe place for you and your cat to stay in during the extermination? Some people board their cats for a few days because there isn't any other option.

TCS has some articles on dealing with fleas:

The exterminator said we were able to be here when he does it, so I'm assuming it's safe. I refuse to give her a bath because she gouges and bites. Can't take her to groomer cause she's not up to date on shots due to the fkea infestation, can't take her to vet yet. :(

Fleas are a pain to get rid of. We had a flea outbreak with my dog and two cats a few years back and it took treating the animals and bombing the house simultaneously to get rid of them. Have you tried oral flea medication? We had much greater success with that than topical medication. We also gave the animals repeated baths, but if that's not an option, it might just take longer to get rid of them.

Be sure you air out properly and well, several hours,  the rooms after the exterminator is done with the gassing of fleas.
