Hi,

Is it acceptable or against site policy to include a link to an in-depth review on a personal website when writing a product review? I mean providing a review here on the product page and then pasting a link to a more detailed full review that might be considerably longer and/or include embedded media on a personal blog. I checked the Review Tutorial page and did not see a specific policy mentioned about this, sorry if I missed it elsewhere.

Thanks!

Generally speaking, we kinda want to keep people on TCS. A longer review is fine and you can post photos as well, that would be awesome. If there's something preventing you from posting something crucial somehow, then let me know in a PM and we'll see what can be done. Thanks for asking!

Thanks for the reply! I just feel like I have more flexibility to format the review in the way I want on a full sized blog, and I plan to post all in-depth reviews on my own site first anyway so seemed like it might be easier to link to that. No links it is! I am guessing it's fine to copy-paste the contents of the review from my personal site  to TCS, right? To avoid rewriting or rewording the entire review.

Since it's your own text (as in, you own the copyright) there shouldn't be a problem with copying and pasting. Google doesn't like duplicate content, so if you're interested in getting search engine traffic, I would avoid that. As far as TCS is concerned, the site has so many indexed pages I don't think it would be a problem in a review. So, up to you really

Thanks in advance for reviewing products here and for taking the time to ask before posting the review! I do appreciate that!
