Hello all -

Isabella is a 4 1/2 year old tabby. She has over the past 2 1/2 years had litter box issues. Everyday sometimes twice a day she poops in the floor. It is not in the same spot but it is in the same room as her box.

Here is what we have tried:

Removing carpet

New litter

New boxes

Boxes in different rooms and locations

Assuring she isn't bother in box

Cat food

Hairball treatment

Probiotics

Retraining for the box with room and crate variations

Enzymetic Cleaners

Numerous vet trips

Tradazone (medicatoin - she can't do pills so this didnt work)

Those sentry calming collars, plug ins, and spray

Potty pads (which she used to cover up her poop that was on the floor)

We have been in the same location for 3 years, no changes in household, pets, or anything. We have multiple boxes in different locations, etc. We clean our boxes multiple times a day, and do all the things that we have researched and the vet has suggested to do.

Just need some advice. The only other medication the vet suggested was a liquid prozac which would be our next step. I am not concerned about that. I am just curious if anyone has had this issued and if they have any other suggestion or idea of what we could do.

We are pretty much at our wits end with her and are desperately needing a solution.

Thanks!

Annoying as it is, is there any way you can live with this? The only thing I could not tolerate is peeing outside the box, but I could tolerate the pooping so long as I can see it. Easy for me to say though.

We have been living with it for 2.5 years and unfortunately as it increases it isn't something that we want to keep dealing with. We want her to be healthy and to use the box like she is supposed too. I know we have no control over animals though and it isn't always about what we want. Like I said though I was just looking for possible suggestions or to hear from someone that may have been through this as well. Thank you :)

Cats are hyper sensitive. I wonder if she is somehow picking up on your displeasure with her behavior? I don't mean that you are angry with her, but she can definitely sense that something is wrong. I wonder if it would improve if you just clean up the poop and move on? Again, easy for me to say.
