Hello, name is Brayan and am from California! Iam joining here in hopes of learning a lot more about our furry friends alongside giving insight of my own as well. Iam the mommy of a 1 year old 11 month old female sassy kitty Tabby named Lexa! Also joined in quicks as iam having a bit of an anxious moment regarding my kittys newly spay. I suppose Ill write about that in another thread? Im not so sure how this works yet exactly. Ill post either way. Ive came across this sight numerous times when having another topics happening in that present moment and thought I should just join!

I had my female cat spayed Saturday morning, 4 days ago, today is Wed.

She is a groomer and from numerous articles read, vets and experienced owners both, a bit of grooming is okay, though it still has me anxious! I was told by her vet to only get her an E-Collar if seen excessively. She is eating normal since yesterday except not drinking as much water. Earlier today I had checked her incision and it wasn't as bad looking as now, then it looked like a very light yellow/tan/green color AROUND her incision, now there seems to be a tiny little bump, almost hole looking with pus looking actually on/it it.

Today she peed in her sleeping spot which is rare, she is very clean and has only had urinating problems when in heat, even then, her last cycles she had peed in her box. Perhaps from pain.

She was also on her last cycle day(s) when she got spayed!

I had her spayed at a low-income clinic as I'am my self low-income. I will be calling the vet tomorrow! If anything will have her taken to a vet clinic. She's very antsy and goes crazy at first when being in a carrier so I'm very worried about her hurting her self if out in one again. As for the e collar as well, I feel as if though she'll go nuts with it causing possible damage to her possibly already open incision.

She did have it glued and stitched from the inside.
I've also looked at a tube sock but worry she will bite through it or bite the incision and don't want to risk that

I will ask, iam a bit anxious as this is my first kitty since childhood. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also currently trying to catch a photo as I dont had a phone with flash, rather an iPad and I get lucky when I catch her tummy visible. Im not quite the grabber, I guess Im a bit scared

Hello Brayan Avila, welcome to TCS :wavey:

Your spayed kitty surgery site will take around 10 days or so to heal. In the meantime, keep her calm and no hard games like jumping or chasing toys.

As long as she don't over lick the incision site and there's no foul smell or yellowish pus and stitches still intact, it should be ok.

Did the vet gave her pain medication? If yes and you think she is in pain, give her the pain medicine. It's good that she is eating. Dry or wet food? If she is not drinking but eating wet food, then you don't have to worry too much about dehydration. But if she is on dry, try to get her to drink.

Here's an article for you to read :- [article="30218"][/article]
