Hey, Sooz...

Had some stuff set up on the kitchen table, posing photos, camera in hand, and Miss Sooz paused by my chair and said hello.

Thanks! It's true, she's the pretty little girl of our bunch. The others are lovely in their own way, if I do say so, but Suzy is the "pretty" one.

Unfortunately, she's also the least interested in being photographed. Though, that may be changing? Sooz has never been your basic outgoing mushy cat. She could really give material to the people who claim that cats are aloof. And she was a reeeeeeeeeeeal recluse for a while, not really interacting with us at all unless absolutely necessary.

And then sometime last summer, there was an abrupt about face. This cat who had been home for max 30 mins every four days or so, was HOME. I had been keeping a "Suzy Sighting" diary, and all of a sudden didn't need to, because she was here, all day, every day, except for perhaps an hour or so total when she'd go out for some air and whatnot. But, even lovelier was the fact that she wasn't avoiding touch, she was coming looking for attention, all that wonderful stuff. She's mellowed an incredible amount! And, where she'd simply remove herself with a disdainful look over her shoulder before, now she'll sit still for several photos at a time, if she hadn't been planning to move.

I was quite used to getting only the odd shot here and there and being thankful for that. Now, I can actually take my time and have a reasonable expectation that the picture will still be there.

All of which is to say, there aren't too many pics of Suzy extant at the moment, but who knows -- with all the other mellowing happening, that may get rectified sooner than I thought!
