I recently posted about my 9 month old kitten, thinking he had fip potentially, but his blood work came back completely normal except for a slightly low white blood cell count. he is acting and eating totally normal and he feces is solid and regular. the only issue is he seems to have lost a big of muscle mass on his shoulder blades and spine. I recently found out his licked a bunch of cheese off of some cheetos and im wondering if maybe the low white blood cell count it because he ate something he shouldn't have and it caused a slight irritation in his body? the vet didn't seem.concerned and he weighs 10 Pounds. I just didn't know if anyone had experience with some.muscle mass loss in cats but with normal blood work? thinking it could be a thyroid or food intolerance issue??

BEFORE he ate the cheetos, was anything different?  I don't see how this could effect anything, but is is disconcerting that you are noticing muscle mass loss in his shoulders and spine.  Is that what prompted you to take him in to be seen?  Was his eating slowed down for awhile?   I'm kind of surprised your Vet isn't more concerned, as this isn't normal, at least not to me

no before the cheetos he was totally fine and is totally fine now, I just seem to feel his spine and shoulder blades more than normal. eating is perfectly normal as well as behavior and bathroom habits. I've been watching him closely and weighing him every day and his weight is still the same. the vet told me his wbc was very close to normal and that the only other thing was some inflammatory cells were elevated by .2 above normal level. he told me that he thinks his body condition is ideal, but I agree I'm paranoid as I know it's really not normal. but I'm thinking his body was inflamed from eating something foreign and it went to attack it? I'm taking him to another vet tomorrow just to be safe and get a second opinion as I have no clue what could be wrong and it's driving me nuts! I may just be going crazy too but better to be safe than sorry

If this 2nd opinion is the same as as the first, then I guess it's YOU
But I agree that it's better to be safe than sorry.

Honestly, I hope it's nothing
