Hello, fellow cat parents!

One of my cats (Lumos) has recently developed a worrisome behavior. Whenever a light reflects onto the ceiling (reflecting from my phone or when I open my silverware drawer), she immediately stares at it meowing, teeth-chattering, tail whipping until it goes away. She never exhibited this behavior before despite having lived in the same apartment. We just returned to our apartment after visiting my parents for 3 weeks where she first had this reaction to reflected light on the ceiling. My other cat, Nox, does not have the same reaction.

While at my parents', I played with Lumos and Nox with a laser pointer (a Christmas gift)  for the first time. We only used it twice for less than 2 minutes each time before I decided against using it again.

Have any of your cats exhibited this same behavior after playing with laser pointers or otherwise out of the blue? Did it go away? Should I be worried? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Do your cats get on ok? Or is Lumos a particularly nervous cat? It sounds like the reflections and laser pointer are over stimulating her. Feliway or something similar may help. Usually, you try to associate  try to overcome a problem like this by making positive associations ie playing and giving treats near the object that makes them fearful but that would be difficult with reflections.
