Hello, all!
I'm sorry for posting all the time, but I went tonight to clean up after my cat used his litter box. I noticed his poop had several large flat white worms wiggling around in his poop. I'll call the vet first thing in the morning, but I hoped you could share your experiences with worms. Mostly to quell my anxiety.
Basically, we adopted Ralph in August. We were told his brother had worms and he was put on a protective course of antibiotics. We got him tested after we got him, and the test was negative.
In November, he had diarrhea from a piece of paper or something he ate. We got him treated, but he still had diarrhea after finishing the antibiotics. Our vet said to give him rice water and probiotics. So far, he's been great. Now, I find the worms.
I'm worried that his diarrhea has been related to worms this whole time and we misdiagnosed him. I hate to think he's been feeling ill all this time. This is the first time I've noticed worms, though. I've been pretty paranoid since he pooped out the paper and have been checking ever since.
Does anyone know where an indoor cat might get worms? What is the vet likely to do?
