I found my cat hunting kitchen cockroaches (the European species - 2 cm maximum length) all night long. I suspect he cannot catch more than 2-3 insects per night and I am not very sure whether he eats them all.

I do not use chemical poisons to cockroaches. Partially because of the cat.

My question is: is eating kitchen cockroaches safe for cats?

You may not be poisoning cockroaches but your neighbors might - best check with them.

Try boric acid in non cat-accessible places to get them under control?

I think I read some where that some worms are passed to cats from eating insects.
That said most every cat I've had eats some from flies to grasshoppers and **** roaches. I burn fire wood in the house and some insects get in that way. In nature insects are part of a cats diet. Mine have had worms from time to time and some times go a long space with out. They spend some time out side and get some rodents and an occaisional bird also which can spread worms also.
