I have a situation I'm trying to deal with.  I need to be out of town one night each week for work.  My cats, while they enjoy both dry and wet food, get sick if they have only dry food to eat for that time.

I recently got the C50 automatic feeder on sale.  It works well... but I can't find a solution that allows for me to be gone like that.

If I freeze the food, my cats don't eat it once it thaws – they don't recognize it as food.

If I refrigerate it and use the ice packs, one of my cats is fine with it once the C50 rotates to the dish, whereas the other decides she doesn't want to eat something that's been out that long.

I'm considering trying the Feed And Go, as it claims its container is airtight, but it's pretty expensive and that's a big investment to make if it's going to have the same problem.

I see there's one called the Catsomat that actually refrigerates the food.  However, it seems like they cannot actually be ordered; in spite of reaching crowd funding, I don't think the product ever made it into production :/

There's another one called the Catzenpup that opens pouches with a sealed foil lid for you, but again - it hasn't reached production yet.

Does anyone have a solution that might work for me?

I have.  The ice packs stay under the C50 as well.  They don't really do very much though on their own; they go to room temperature within a few hours

I have two Feed and Go's. I've used them when we've gone away for 24 hours with wet food in them. I did not freeze or refrigerate the the wet food. It worked perfectly, no issues. But my cats aren't picky and will eat wet food that's been sitting out all day no issue. I think YMMV.
