They are much better, still in the suitcase but now set up more comfortably and I've been able to change out the bedding. She seems so happy :) thank you for asking!
Please know that mom can get pregnant again any time now, even without going into heat. I hope you are being careful.

Yes, thank you! It's shocking how young they can get pregnant and how quickly after giving birth.

Cats are excellent at reproducing! Do you plan to spay after this litter? We'd be happy to help you to find a low cost spay clinic if you'd like.

Hey guys, can you tell me how you should introduce kittens to regular cat food when they are old enough? I'm taking care of kittens for the first time and trying to learn as much as I can :) thank you!

About a year is usually a good rule of thumb. Unless, you have a giant breed (Maine Coon, Siberian, Norwegian Forest Cat, Ragdoll, American Bobtail) that could take up to four years to reach adult size (they do grow very slowly past one year, but are still growing!).

Kitten food basically contains all the nutrients that kittens need to develop strong bones and good muscle tone. It also contains more calories than adult cat food because kittens have a higher metabolism than adult cats and are more active, so keeping an adult cat on kitten food could lead to obesity.

The type of adult food you get depends on your cat, (based on activity level, special needs like kidney or liver health). When your kittens do start needing adult food, transition them slowly (over a course of 1-2 weeks).

Your vet knows your kittens and particular situation better than I do, so talk to them about specifics (when exactly to transition to adult food, and what to feed them)

Good luck & we'd all love to see pics of your kittens!

Do you mean when you start introducing solids? Most kittens will take to food around 4-5 weeks. You can start by introducing a meat baby food.

Do you plan to spay and neuter the kittens before they go to their new homes?

Lol I was thinking about transition between solid food for kittens and solid food for adult cats. A year would be way too long to move from baby kitten formula to solids.

Great question - I have wondered the same thing. I am also wondering how to find a food with a similar taste profile to the food my kitten enjoys now. He loves his Royal Canin loaf in sauce for kittens, so do I just pick the adult version of this?

Yes, that should be fine as long as your vet has no objections! :)

Thank you so much for your replies! I should have worded that better. I did mean introducing them to solid foods/weaning them! You guys are awesome, it's a little bit early but I wanna be ready for everything :)
