Good morning!
 And Happy Friday!
It's also Friday the 13th, so be careful out there!

Are there any electrical appliances or items that you won't keep plugged-in when you're not at home?

With me, it's the Kuerig; I've gotten into the habit where, as soon as I've made my coffee, I immediately turn it off and then unplug it.

We have an electric blanket on the bed and while I do keep it plugged into the wall recep, it's the recep that is controlled by the wall switch. So all I do is make sure that the wall switch is "Off".

If we're going to be away for a while, I'll shut the computers down. I also won't leave the iPads plugged-in while we're gone.

What about you?

Good Happy Friday!

My toaster and cell phone. I don't really think about this=maybe small appliances once I am done with them but since I don't use my mixer anymore guess nothing else?

I know when we go away we unplug the internet, computer, tv and air cleaner. we just don't want to come home to a fried tv etc If there was a storm.

I don't keep my cell phone plugged in except overnight but that's because it's not great for the battery - not out of worry.  And I turn off the electric blanket if I've been using it but I still keep the plug in mainly because it's too difficult for me to get to.

Everything is plugged in other than appliances I rarely use (waffle maker, Vitamix, etc.) and keep out of sight.  We haven't been away in so long I don't remember if we unplug some appliances for that length of time.

Just about everything! Nowadays the TV, microwave, laptops, two lamps and the phones are left plugged in, unless we're away on vacation. We used to have to unplug anything but the fridge and freezer when we had Jamie because he would play with buttons and switches. For a while one of his favorite games was to unplug the fridge, so that had to be blocked off.

I don't trust small appliances like coffeemakers, toasters, electric kettles, blenders, etc., so they're always unplugged when not in use.

The computer and ethernet box and router thing. I have those on a power strip that has an on / off button so it's easy enough to just flip the button when I'm done using the computer. The only things that are always kept plugged in are the big ktichen appliances, washer and dryer, and two lamps.

The first two that come to mind are the toaster and dishwasher.  I unplug the toaster immediately after using it and don't run the dishwasher if I'm leaving the house.

If we're going away for several days, I walk around and unplug everything I can possibly think of (not the desktop). I unplug all the tvs and I also disconnect the cable (because we had lightning come in through the cable one time and fry the tvs that way).

I also go in the basement and turn off the water main lines....don't want to come home to a flood in the basement.

I keep the toaster and toaster oven unplugged. I don't have a cell phone and almost never go any where overnight.

I unplug my toaster.  Everything else stays plugged in.  The computer and television (and it's accoutrements) along with my charger for my phone are on heavy-duty surge protectors.  My electric blanket actually stays plugged in AND TURNED ON pretty much year-round.  The reason for that is we have very high humidity, and if I turn the blanket on the lowest setting, I don't really notice it, but it keeps the sheets from being damp.

I hate it when the toaster is unnecessarily plugged in but husband says it's perfectly safe. Who knows?
