Is it safe to lint roll cat toys?

I have a few cat toys that get covered in fur really quickly.  I've thought about using the sticky lint rollers on them.  But I worried about leaving residue behind that could harm them.  I don't worry about lint rolling stuff they lay on but things they put in their mouth gives me pause before trying it.

Never thought of it before. As long as it isn't a scented lint roller and you give them a day or two to air out before putting them back out to play I wouldn't see a problem with it. There are lint brushes out there that you may want to use instead to be on the safe side. I once made the mistake of washing a toy that was much loved on and it became outcast so I wouldn't recommend washing.

It's just tape, I can't imagine there's any residue to speak of left on a lint-rolled surface.
It does leave a very mild scent behind for a little while. If I want to lint roll something I have to do it in an open area otherwise I can have a mild reaction with my asthma. Joys of being sensitive to smells. But that fades within a few hours and is very minor.
