Hello! So my cat sleeps around 12 to 4 and once she is up at 4,she doesnt stop meowing until 7 or 8. It is growing really tiring bec she manages to wake up everyone in the house. So i think she is in heat. She is not spayed because there is no vet that does spaying here in my town. There is also this male cat that comes to our house and gives the mating call every day! We try to hush him away but considering we have 9 other stray cats in our garden... he comes everyday!

So my question? Will i have to get her mated or spayed for this to end or will it stop itself? Also can there any other reason? Thanks a lot! Btw she also had her first litter on june 14th and last time she went in heat was at the end of april/beginning of may! Thanks

you're going to have to get her spayed. If she gets pregnant it'll stop for that time, but then you'll have more mouths to feed and more issues to deal with. Besides, learned a little something about feline procreation that is just simply disheartening. Sex is actually painful for females, because the male's penis has barbs to prevent the female from escaping during the act. That to me is enough reason to spay lol

Agreed. She needs to be spayed. Mating her won't help in the long run at all.

I agree. Get her spayed. It's not only good for you, but for her as well. My girl cat was going though this constantly, then I finally got her spayed and it's been peaceful ever since.

So she wont get in heat if i get her spayed? Actually i live in Pakistan... and there is no vet in town currently doinf spaying. Now i will have to go to other city for that and wait there and i dont think its possible so spaying isnt really a choice right now

No, she will not go into heat if she is spayed. Keep her 100% inside and away from intact males and keep looking for a vet in your area. Do not let her get pregnant.

Btw is this behaviour completely bec of heat? She doesnt show the signs of heat she showed last year. For example, she did not howl at all last year. She just became more loving!

I would think so. Keep trying to find a vet!

Um, dude .... a female cat in heat is looking for a male cat to mate with her. So yeah, she's going to be more loving because that's part of the hormonal process of being in "heat". Maybe you should learn some things about cats if you're going to own one.

The original poster is a young teenager, and I think they are  trying to learn--hence the questions.

@sunshiness  Which city in Pakistan? Eventually you're either going to have to get her spayed... I think I remember you posting about another cat that had kittens last summer? I lived in Pakistan and had a couple of cats, and because there are so many cats living outdoors, and all the cats we adopted were essentially friendly strays, I know what kind of position you're in. But you're not going to ever see an end to this heat-pregnant-kittens-heat-pregnant-kittens cycle unless you find a vet who can get your cat fixed.

She needs to be spayed, because if she gets pregnant it will stop for the time that she's pregnant.

And you probably don't want more cats.
