Is it possible for a spayed cat to be pregnant?

I rescued a stray/feral cat that had kittens. She was very skinny after the birth. I waited four weeks to get her spayed, but she was already looking pregnant again. She got spayed, and the vet said the cat was overweight but didnt mention anything about her being pregnant again. Is it possible that the cat still has kittens inside her after being spayed?

I agree. If the vet hasnt made any gross mistakes, alike miscounted and took another female in for surgery, she cant be pregnant, as the whole uterus and all  is typically taken away.   Although she may show some heat symptoms, if some of the hormone producing tissue is left.  THIS happens sometimes.

If you notice problems, dont hesitate to contact the vet.   She is his patient, he will surely be willing to answer question, even if he normally takes good payments for consultations.  OR reluctant to give advices on telephone.

Has your cat been de-wormed? Worms can sometimes cause bloating. Is she still nursing kittens? What and how often are you feeding her?

She is still nursing. Her kittens are 11 weeks old. I feed her and the kittens 3-4 cups of dry kitten food each day. No wet food. There are only two kittens now; i gave the other two away. Before she gave birth, she was eating 2-3 cups by herself. She is 12 lb.
The vet did a check up on her when she got spayed and didnt indicate that she had worms. I have had a cat with worms in the past, and this cat doesnt show the symptoms (like works coming out of her butt).

It appears that your kitty, at 12 pounds, is overweight. Overweight cats do tend to look pregnant when their sides bulge. I suggest you switch to a high protein cat food for mom. That may help her to lose a pound or two.

Kittens need wet food. Is there a reason you are not offering wet food?
